Know it from here, before knowing that was a theme song from a western series. Here, when TV started, Bonanza was the western series that was transmitted and liked!

Especially since they got 'em wrong. They use the word "doggies", which is a small dog. The actual word in the song is "dogies". A dogie is a cowboy term meaning a motherless calf, but in this case applied as a nickname for all the steers in the herd.

I know the term from a real cowboy song 'Git Along, Little Dogies', which I heard a lot as a kid.
