EDIT: sorry that could've been taken the wrong way. I mean I have been mapping them out with hex editor to get specific hex addresses of where things are located in the GR2 files. |
Removed for a reason.

GR2 files is kind of simple for You and I in Hex. What changes things is the mobility of the GR2 file in relationship to SH5 once edited in some fashion. The CRC is mostly unimportant. BUT! Miss a single address pointer? CTD with no recourse. So to add a new 3D object let's say. You have to change many pointer addresses. |

Have to agree with TDW, a 5870 should have no problems at all with this game. Heck I'm using a 4870 overclocked and run the graphics maxed out without any stuttering inside the sub, very few outside as well. I'm using a dual core CPU overclocked to 4.07ghz and it does a really nice job of running the game. Still waiting on a game to force me to 4 core cpu but haven't found one yet. Civilization 5 puts a working on though. :DL
I'm waiting on what the Ati 6800 models performance results turn out to be before I buy another card. |

What operating system you have installed, is 32 or 64 bit?. What version of video drivers installed on your system?. I have a Asus EAH5870, install the drivers provided by ATI and Asus not, go better with ATI ... Another thing these days to update the video drivers with version 10.8 and did not work well, began to stagger and had to go back to 10.6 which I have worked very well so far, have not tried with the latest 10.9 drivers! . I recommend you install only the drivers and not the Catalyst, I see that the game flows better without the extra weight that comes with the Catalyst, that way the program or the game takes all the powers of graphical configuration. I say this because I've tried different ways and I do better with version 10.6 and without the Catalyst ... This mod works very well and me with antialiasing at 16X with a Samsung T220 monitor (1680 x 1050) Digital My system: DP55KG Motherboard. Intel Core i7-860 2.8GHz LGA 1156 Lynnfield 95W Quad-Core Processor. CORSAIR DOMINATOR 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory. Two Western Digital Caviar 750GB 7200 RPM Black WD7501AALS SATA 3.0Gb / s 3.5 "Hard Drive RAID. Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit OEM. :-?I hope I explained well, my English is not very good |
:-?We talked about what we can add into the submarine, but we forgot something very important ...

Right now?
Things are being thrown into the mix of files that can be intense on some systems. I'm pretty sure that type issue can be addressed in the future. Why render the Dials and Gauges in a room your not close enuff to actually view? If not rendered? No controllers, shaders, etc, will activate. System demands will then drop. There's another way to reduce system demands also. It only applies to dat files or 3D objects placed in other files. That is to use one model for any repeated object. At load time, only the one 3D object gets loaded into memory. At render? You get all the objects. View the SeaFort in GWX for an example. 7 Towers, 1 3D object for every different part to create 7 complete Towers! |
Remember the loo that sank a u-boat?...:har::har::har:
