Oh crap you made me feel to throw my VIIC/41 revel model to the thrash bin. . .

Thanks a lot for such nice feedback.

Siara, with your permission I am collecting all the information you have posted through the years you have been building this u-boot, to have my reference book and guide when I start my U-boot.
I don't know if you have thought on building the 4 open sections offered by Czech Master Kits, but with your "magic hands" and clever initiave that would be a very interesting project...just think it...:D Regards |
Sabalo- just imagine, if i was to do the interior, it would have taken me well into next decade.:D
I have different plans. After the boat next on my bench is BMW R75 in 1/9 scale- vintage ESCI kit from 1970. Actually i own 3 of them- i may do one civilian, one AK, and one Wehrmacht in panzer gray. All 3 of them with sidecars, and at least one of them is planned to have 2 scratch build figures- probably the wehrmacht one- 2 chained dogs- one changing the flat tyre, and smoking the ciggie.:yep: Theres few more things rumbling inside my scull- Opel blitz, Gf 109 E1 in 1/32, SdKfz 11, SdKfz 7.... and so on..... |
Well, thanks a lot for the masterly class on this model...I have still the hope next decade you will come back to the open sections...:D :D :D

no words suffice
Amazing sir, just amazing... I used to build models but it was a babe`s work compared to your skill and patience.

Since many months I´ve followed your work.
Even If I live a thousand years I´d never be able to make a model as half as good as yours. I hope my U 82 will look at least decent when I finish it, but when I see your U 552... It will be a hard work. Thanks a lot for sharing your work! |
This is modelling at its very best. When you decide upon which level to keep on detailing you always end up with things you never thought of from the beginning.:D
BUT you have to finish without cheating and that takes some diciplin and time.:know: A salute to your fine skills. /OB |
Thank you for your support guys.
Getting along with it: http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/748...2003fw0.th.jpg http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9...1002bo4.th.jpg http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/4...0071yh0.th.jpg http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/6...1009dq7.th.jpg TBC... |
It will be a Happy\Sad day when your finished with this one.
But... Hey we'll get to watch the next build. :D |

I made 4 remaining brackets for stern external tube storage. http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/2...0007ez3.th.jpg Place where the conning tower, and capstan will be fixed i have masked using Maskol by Humbrol. That thing is brilliant- it will cover the area where i like the deck to remain unpainted, untill the painting process is complete, and then it will just lift off the deck giving me nice surface to glue the parts on. http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/3...0001si2.th.jpg http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/3...0002ew1.th.jpg TBC... |
Hull is primed.
I hoped to make the "oil canning" effect of the hull, and i think it turned out well. It took me several months to sand the hull, but looking at the pictures it was time well spent. Tomorrow at good light i will scan the surface for imperfections, but from what ive seen now there isnt many. http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/1...imed004ho8.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/8...imed005gy6.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/8...imed007vj5.jpg http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/820...imed011el5.jpg http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/752...imed012xo4.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/2...imed013xi2.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/8...imed014pv6.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/9...imed015ak0.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/7...imed016jw6.jpg http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/1...imed017st2.jpg Hope you like it.:yep: |
She looks incredible, Siara. Can't wait to see how it looks painted and weathered.

Absolutely amazing!
Now that everything is painted in one colour it looks even more like a perfect replica, can´t wait to see the final finish on that Boot. Cheers, Michael |
