I'd say that American comedy shows have caught up with the British ones, but it's all subjective. It's amazing how many shows get remade across the pond, in both directions, and become limp imitations of the brilliant originals.
My current favourite from the US is The Big Bang Theory, so, so funny :up:
I can't think of a funny Brit show at the moment, maybe Psychoville (but that's definately a subjective view!). Mr Jelly is legendary -
