If you can, check our power supply - it may be overheating or sending sporadic signals and causing all sorts of issues. (You might be underpowered too for what you have in the system - a simple upgrade may be all it takes).

I have never seen any of the SH3, patches, or mods cause problems with the system files themselves - particularly not in the way you described. Therefore, it must be a hardware issue...

Good luck!

That's what I didn't want to hear but it's good information. The power supply is relatively new (early last year) and is in excess of what I need so I'll hope it's just a dust issue. Thanks

Mind You the sea was calm , but still by my standards prety good result. Considering when i started this career i had 2 sinkings in 4 patrols without the mod.

How do you have a draggable chrono?

Hi OLC

After much to move things around I have managed to meet on the failure that was preventing from showing the name of the target in the scope with your mod when we were asking the Armament official to identify it when we had Richi's translation installed.

The "failure" is in the type FPCond14.tga numbered like Font13 and present in the file menu_1024_768.ini

La "culpa" la tiene la fuente FPCond14.tga numerada como Font13 y presente en el archivo menu_1024_768.ini

I do not know for because there is this problem,

Graphical example of arrives exposed.

http://static3.filefront.com/images/...ykenkdcyqn.jpg

http://static3.filefront.com/images/...nmrrfabmgg.jpg

Type original in english.

http://static3.filefront.com/images/...oldmikkvti.jpg

Type in Richi's translation.

http://static3.filefront.com/images/...zdymwyaqab.jpg

The only difference between both types is indicated in the latter screenshot. Now then, why it does not work his visualized one in the mod when it is installed is a mystery for me.

Regards.

Sorry, my english is poor

Note that if you use an already customized olc menu.ini, you will have to add the stopwatch manually. Search for "jonz" in the menu.ini and copy the lines needed, if you already changed your menu.ini it should be really straight forward. Don't forget the dials.cfg (last entry).

Thanks for quickly stopping our thread highjack :)

OLC GUI 1.2.1 for GWX 2.0 - released!

OLC GUI 1.2.1 for GWX 2.0 is looking good - I'm very happy with it in fact - so I'm releasing it now for GWX 2.0 rather than waiting for the indefinitely delayed GWX 2.1 update. A 2.1-compatible version will follow the release of the GWX 2.1 update. Before that I hope to release 1.2.1 for (stock) SH3 1.4b.

This update includes:
- Local Time tooltip.
- Red crosshair added to the zoomed-in deck gun view (same as on the zoomed-out view).
- GoBack key (Numpad 0) added.
- All U-boat cameras given appropriate GoBack destinations.
- Darkened gramophone shortcuts.
- Tooltips restored on all order shortcuts.
- Tooltip showing torpedo loading time restored.

It's uploading to my FF page now...

Thank you for updating so quickly.....

Nice work
I will dl it when I finish my curent patrol

one question: how do I remove that "Red crosshair added to the zoomed-in deck gun view"? Thanks.

mkubani 01-30-08 02:26 PM

Yes please, I am with JC on it. I would like to remove the red cross as well. Thanks.

OLC, would you also mind to give me a quick "how to" for removing the white ship name in periscope view? I hope you don't mind. We can do it over PM. I would really appreciate it.

To anyone who wants to "tweak" the OLC GUI

I was hoping to one day write a tutorial for editing the menu file but it looks like latemail already started a good one here so I'll not bother. It's in German, but if you install Google Toolbar, which is free, it'll translate any webpage into English for you.

I'll update post #1 with this info.

Edit: latemail's tutorial is actually on how to edit the SH4 menu file, but skimming over his post, it looks exactly the same as the SH3 one to me, so you should be fine.

Very nice OLC,b/l it now.

It would be great if you could put in your experience in this tutorial as well.

I could contact latemail for a knowledge-sharing session or whatever... but I wouldn't want to cause offense by suggesting that I know **** he doesn't. You know how us modders can be! And for all I know, his knowledge of the menu file is complete and it's only his tutorial that is not.

Edit: nm, latemail just posted on this very topic :)

Turm 01-30-08 03:51 PM

Hooray once again - off to download now :D Many thanks, OLC!

Ironic that as soon as you add the red crosshair for the deck gun, people want it removed. With no crosshair and no binocular graphic, how will you people aim? :hmm: I suppose you'll restore the binoculars, else you must love the trial-and-error process and wasting countless rounds! :p

I will try the crosshair but not sure if I'll keep it, as the binoculars were fine for me. I suppose I'll need to know how to remove the crosshair too in that case, assuming it's visible over/under the old binoculars graphic.

Edit: Looks like it's included in the deckgun.tga so it can just be swapped with the old one, probably.

OLC I have to ask another question, I am going to take part in a campaign of an online flotilla. And they decided to use use GWX 1.03 because of the lack of GWX 2.0 multiplayer missions. Will OLC 1.2.x be backward compatible to GWX 1.3 or will this mast hight issue make reversed problems ?

It should be possible to make it compatible. The Sea folder is all that needs taking care of - however note that it contains images (recognition manual pages) as well as mast heights!

Is this enough info?

Siara 01-30-08 06:51 PM

Ok - im buffled a little. In original version tutorial when the periscope was used in non magnified position / f.e. when the large ship was close / You read the measures to the scratches on the dial. Right?
Question is - how do i do it now?
I had problem reading the info for TDC when the large merchant was real close. :hmm:

The scratch marks are present on the new range/aob finder.

Maybe I didn't make them stand out enough? :hmm:
