Has anyone ran into green colored storms at night yet? I'm running RFB but PE4 has been installed before RFB. I don't know if that matters or not. It goes away at sunrise. :hmm:
EDIT: It must be the fog, as soon as the sun dip below the horizon, everything turns green and as soon as it comes back up, it's grey. The rain is very light (the weather report says no rain, poor visibility) but the fog is thick, has been for a few days. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...6-06-04-00.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...5-19-24-23.jpg |
I noticed that as well:yep: It is indeed the fog effect. I noticed this after comeing out of TC. The weather had turned overcast, with what appeared to be a greenish haze on the water forming a distinct wall on the horizon. After reloading the save, the "wall" was better blended and looked exactly like a "pea soup" fog. I was pretty impressed, and all this without the volumetric fog option ticked.
Another thing to note here is that alot of people notice oddities when comeing out of high TC. I however, believe it or not, rarely go higher than 256x, and mostly use 128x speed:o I'm not sure it's just a high TC thing. If you're still wondering :hmm: why I would sail across the Pacific at such a painfully slow TC, I do it to simulate the weeks it would actualy take IRL;). |
I don't use high TC myself very much, though I will go to 1024x sometimes but like you, I typically use 256x.
I tried reloading the game and playing with the options but the green hue remained. Just at sunset/sunrise it would be kinda close but after dark, it was really green. If you pull your camera up in the air, it would become a green screen. :hmm: It may have something to do with different resolutions as I'm using a 22" monitor 1650 x 1080. |
Anyone know how to keep the volumetric fog from bleeding through crew members' heads while in bridge view? Not a game breaker, but it looks funny.

Another thought. Is there any way to add sea foam particles to the tops of waves that exceed a certain angle of incline? IRL if the surface of a wave approaches vertical, the edge spills over and traps air which creates foam that gets caught in the wind and can blow away.
Might be a framerate killer, but is it possible to implement? I think this would add a lot of realism to the already amazing rough sea effects in SH4. |
I love this mod, but i think a storm without lightning er wierd.
There are no lightning in thunderstorms in PE4. |
Any one noticed that you can see the Sun rise through the tower?

Understand, no problems.
Going to reinstall the game however, not because of that but I have a purple-ish water color. Had to do some Brightness & Gamma adjustments to be able to see anything at night and did some tweaking with my vid-card now I have this purple color.. changed settings in CCC back to default but the weird color stayed. |

One mans advice....best of luck. |
The ships wake ey... my hole ocean is purplish and not my wake but thx for the info and will do that first.
Didn't get around to DL the lates JSGME yet so I'll do that first. |
I'm finding the reflection of ships when looking up through the water from beneath are very blocky and pixelated, not so much that I suspect that I botched the install order, just more so than stock and previous PE releases. Also, the water transparency appears to thick, as I can't really see the undersides of ships when looking down from above. I'll try to post screenies when I can to better illustrate.
Other than that, sunsets/sunrises are stunning, and I love the new skins for the IJN skimmers. The ocean surface seems much more alive and detailed now. I can't wait for my first storm in PE4! |
Hi there, nub to the forums, and I thought I'd give feedback on a little glitch I noticed with this mod.
As I think someone else may have mentioned, it changes the way the camera works in the sub interiors so that mouse sensitivity is greatly reduced and I get various 'Camera out of sectors' errors if I click on certain things, eg. the helmsman. On the bright side it enables me to navigate inside the interiors which was fun, but doesn't really balance up the break in immersion from the glitches. I found out I can use the stock camera, though, so no huge problem. I also noticed that the caustics part of the mod causes a shimmering on the top front surface of the sub hull which is not present in stock. It looks as if the bow wave can be partially seen through it, but I am unsure if this is somehow caused by me using the stock cameras.dat file...? The only other mod I have installed is the 3000 yard bearings marker and these things happens regardless of install order. Otherwise, from what I've seen of the environments you guys have done a stunning job. |
