Yep, loud and clear. Weaponization of the criminal justice system to eliminate a political opponent.

BBC:

Former US President Donald Trump has been charged with conspiracy to defraud the US, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy against the rights of citizens in an effort to overturn 2020 election result.

The unsealed indictment says the former US president "was determined to stay in power" and "spread lies" saying he had won in order to overturn the election.
"These claims were false, and the Defendant knew that they were false."

We're still combing through the 45-page indictment, but here are the main takeaways.
Trump has been charged with:
  • Conspiracy to defraud the United States
  • Conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding
  • Obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding
  • Conspiracy against rights

So long a time just to finally state the obvious that everybody knows. Even his fans knows it. They just dont care for the law or for getting lied to. When you stick to illusions and lies for so long time, it is hard to give these up since then you would need to admit to yourself that you fell for lies and illusions, and that is more than many can bear. But it does make the psychotherapists' coffers ring. And sometimes, fi the personality of the person ins question is a bit too deranged, that of the undertaker. Thinking of doomsday sects when their bubbles burst to whcih they stuck for so long.

If a politician has done something wrong/illegal-They should be prosecuted whatever country they may come from.

He has now three cases against him-Wonder if he has to go through all of them and which case they see as most important of these three.

He will go through as many cases as he is being financed by his followers, his debts are already legendary.
The most important case is imho not even mentioned in what Sky posted. But then maybe this was never imagined to happen before.

Yep, like I said earlier the powers that be want him out of the picture. If this were Russia he would have accidentally fallen out of a window many months ago. But as ‘the big guy’ said he can only use our legal system to ensure he can’t be president ever again. Since indictments are not trials they just have to sound convincing so they will continue flow forth until he’s broke.

But then, nobody wants the ‘the big guy’ to run either so they’re going after him and his crackhead son.

Now, I am by no means choosing team R over team D but it is my opinion Biden should have more to worry about. But then silly me also thought a person who pulls the trigger and kills someone on a movie set should have been found guilty too.

You’re right that should be the case each and every time unfortunately rather then doing their duty and dropping the hammer. It is nothing more than a long drawn out political spectacle or simply hidden from people but in the end really goes no where.

BS. All of Trump's legal investigations and troubles began before he announced his candidacy. He's running to avoid responsibility for his criminal activity.

His investigations and troubles started before he won the 2016 election and have been going non stop ever since. The Democrats are bound and determined to keep throwing indictments at him until he becomes unelectable.

The American democracy is not dead yet, but very ill.

A journalism that offers itself to the candidates as cheerleaders has given up its independence. Of all the self-harms of American democracy, this is probably the greatest: ratings and advertising revenue are traded for credibility, particularly by the TV networks.
Conclusion: The USA is the motherland of modern democracy, which is why this dysfunctionality radiates to other nations. The fixed star in the firmament of democracies has not gone out, but has begun to flicker. Or, to paraphrase Senator Edward Kennedy, who died some time ago: "Politics is like mathematics: everything that is not quite right is wrong."

Is Trump going to have enough free time to bring an end to the Russian invasion in a day?

Rockstar 08-02-23 07:50 AM

The last statement I heard Trump make was if Putin refused his deal to end the war. He would send everything needed to Ukraine to end the war.

Jimbuna 08-02-23 07:53 AM

Coming from anyone else other than Trump I might have believed it.

America is the last country Putin would want to be seen conforming to.
