I should curse him as well because this mod has made my patrols last way longer than they really should due to dropping out of time compression too often to gawk at the amazing ocean. ;)

I changed the main page of the mod. Did away with the manual work seeing I added the rain mod and everything else people did to the scene file. I also added my new work doen to it with the Reflections on the Water Mod.

Just incase someone wants only the LBO mod I figured I would give them the latest of everything I have done to it and with it.

Also added a note about the fix to stop the ocean morphing and shaking effect and how to get the game's rendering engine the chance to catch up to make this stop.

Seeing it is dedicated to one of our fallen Members in the Subsim comunity I figured I should keep my work up to date on it. And add the new credit's.

Before anyone ask's why I did away with the manual Data I will nip this in the bud now! With the new reflections work I have changed more things in the scene.dat file than you can imagine. It would take a lot of room to add it all for manual work. If anyone wants to add something to what I did they can just add that one mod in manualy from my scene file for LBO and Reflections. I will not budge on this right now so don't ask for the info!!!!!!!

Leo,

Thanks for this bit of info, I had been running TM1.6.2 with some heavily tweaked additions of my own, I was just getting to learn the MiniTweaker. When you released ROW and uninstalled all of my own "rubbish" and started with a fresh and clean TM1.6.2 plus NSM Classic and ROW. Nice to know that LBO is now a part of ROW.

Again, many thanks, SH4 is now just astonishing....thanks to you and your great group of folks there.

I can state beyond doubt get SH4 and load up these mods and you are off on an awesome historical adventure.

Astonishing is a good word for it. I loaded up the mod last night, sailed from Pearl to Midway and then sat in the harbor for a good two hours just watching the sun rise. This is a WHOLE different game now, words dont do it justice.

I have so many effect mods installed that I can't even tell if this is working or not. LOL! I think it is when looking from under the waves.

The reason why this got unstickyed and allowed to slide

Is because ROW has gone from where LBO was left off with in work. ROW goes above and beyond the work with LBO and is incorporated into the new ROW mod.

So if you run ROW you do not need this one at all seeing the work for ROW goes much further in refinement.

strange sky...

Hi,

I have been reading a bit about mods on this great forum and found this mod. Sounded great so I tested it. And yes it works great, even gained a few FPS. But there is one thing; the sky sometimes become strange...its a bit hard to explain but when there is no clouds and the sun is up the sky gets "blocky". it looks like big pixels, as if the blending isnt working properly. I didnt notice this before the mod so now I wonder if it is the mod that is creating this. Also the light-shafts that you see under water also appears above, reahing for the sky...may be a part of the other problem...

...anyway if someone knows anything about this it would be great. It's not a nig deal but it is disturbing the great ocean views...

AVGWarhawk 11-27-07 09:14 AM

Propy,

Go to the stickied Reflections on the Water thread here in the mods forums. This new improved mod contains LBO and has a new sky texture that eliminates the blocky sky textures you are getting now. Plus a whole bunch of new stuff. Flow the instructions on download each part of the mod.

Propy 11-27-07 09:38 AM

Thanks a lot! I noticed that mod before but since I havent used any mods for SH4 before I thought I would start small...but now I will try the complete makeover instead :D

AVGWarhawk 11-27-07 10:15 AM

ROW is a great mod for the environment. Again, follow the instructions and all will be well.

Ducimus 12-03-07 05:44 PM

Bumpity. Gotta look at/ revisit this mod.

Warning the Scene.dat file is now iffy for the 1.4 patch

Some of my ocean work has been locked up in a section of the game I can not see or touch as far as I can tell.

Until I can get info and how it all works from the Dev's I am trying to experiment with it in small changes just for the reflection work and see how it goes.

The scene file in here is obsoliete at the moment so might want to wait on using it. And the scne file in ROW is kind of tied into the texture files of row for the sky and reflex pack. I made it work with them.

The scene file in here is tied to old files amd might not look and or act right in nature.

I will be updating ROW first seeing it is the primary mod work for LBO now.

Until I under stand the changes more in the game patch use at your own risk.

Ducimus 12-04-07 07:11 PM

Well, my objective wasnt neccessarly to use THIS file, but to copy the wave settings out of it, and apply it to a new scene.dat, but in hindsight - since the scene.dat is unchanged by the patch, probably wouldlnt do any good anyway

leovampire 12-04-07 07:17 PM

there are new shader and game controls for the ocean

That came with the 1.4 patch. Until I can deconstruct how it works now in game I don;t trust any changes to the scene.dat file.
