I have an idea for the caterpillar drive.Perhaps it could be modded so when one orders "silent running" the drive kicks in.Perhaps the prop animation could be manipulated to stop but it's actually turning so you have propulsion as I imagine the propulsion itself is hard coded but the animation may be able to be manipulated as others are in SH 4.Not sure how silent one could make it but perhaps someone can.Perhaps use torpedo tube doors in the bow to open and act as the intakes as I remember in the movie when Ryan and Tyler were looking over the photos, Ryan asked if they were torpedo tubes.I am sure some of this has been thought of and its far beyond my modding abilities(what little I have) but just an idea.

Two years, nearly two thousand downloads. This mod is the second most popular file on my Game Front account. If I only knew it would turn out like this when I first made this mod. Could`t have done it without you guys. :wah:

I have already made a working caterpillar drive. You need SH4 1.5 with hydroxid engine system.

Hello All, i have read this forum topic for past couple days. I have some questions on the Red October. (FYI: I am new here, so forgive me if these have been answered before).

1. I have tweaked some of the values in the Ballast, so it submerges reasonably, but when it surfaces it doesn't really surface. It only goes half way and stops, is there a value or ratio i have to follow on the ballast? or is there something else i need to tweak?

2. @Gibbs1, i have read your topic on how you got the caterpillar drive to work. I was wondering if you have a tutorial on how you go the Hydrogen peroxide propulsion drive to incorporate with the Red October. I do have SH4 and the DLC (or Expansion Pack?) Wolves of the Pacific Uboat missions, is there an object i am suppose to get from a file to insert it in the Red October SIM file?

Before i forget, @Karle94, good job on the Sub. Really love it, but is there ballistic missile option i am forgetting to look for? That would be cool, if not then i don't mind.

One thing your missing when Red October went silent she turned off her Screws and then engaged a caterpillar drive, made her dissapper.
