Does anyone still have a copy of Aces waterstreams for Kurfürst's Schnelltauchback?

Kurfürst's Schnelltauchback by Privateer, lightmaps & 2d gfx pack
-Adds lightmap textures to the sub model, also tweaks the 2d menu images of the sub to represent the alterations to the model.

Or flakmonkey's 2d GFX pack?

Added new wakes to the cut section for a better wave effect.
Adjusted the standard wakes for better looks.
And optimized a few things on the 3D model.
Also did some work on the Skin.
Sim is now adjusted correctly for dive times.

Also did a bit of looking at the water drain effects stuff.
I'll need to contact a few people for final permissions yet.

Flakmonkey for his outstanding Damage screen stuff.
And Rubini for the water drain stuff.

Was v2.0 ever released?

Hi drakkhen,

this explains the "schnelltauchback" and what it was designed for.
Only the late-war versions (mid-44 an onwards) of the type IX C/ IX C40 and a few IX D2 boats had been equipped with that modification:

let me know if you want more infos about these boats, always glad to help!

Hi Wreford-Brown,

looking forward to see what you´re working on!

[REL] Kurfürst's Schnelltauchback (SH3 Cmdr)

I've been working on a little enhancement to this excellent mod.

This is an SH3 Commander mod which automatically makes the IXC Schnelltauchback available from 1 Jan 1944:
External reloads are removed.
If you are already in an IXC you will automatically receive an IXC Stb.
The IXC Stb becomes available to 'buy' for renown in the equip tab.

JSGME ready, but you have to enable it through your SH3 Commander MODS folder.

If anyone has waterstreams for the Stb can you let me know - it's about the only thing that's missing from the mod.

Leitender 04-01-13 01:39 PM

Good evening, gentlemen,

some days before, i discovered this wonderful modification for my game. As i have a heavily modded version of sh3, including changes of menu.ini and basic.cfg, i tried to figure out what changes were made for helping me to integrate the values into my existing configuration.

SH3 Commander gives us a mighty tool which was used by wreford brown in an intelligent way to activate privateer´s very fine mod time dependant.

To make the schnelltauchback work for all installations independant of any big mod, i integrated the changes into the "static settings" configuration of the commander (and did some further minor tweaks). I´d like to publish a test version, but before, i´d like to ask the original authors for their permission.

I hope these changes help to give the mod a wider distribution. It would be worth to it.

Sincerely

Sepp von Ch. 04-02-13 11:57 AM

And how to change the very unrealistic dive time value in this mod please?

Leitender 04-02-13 01:02 PM

Hi. This can easily be fixed.

Some small (p)reviews of privateers fine work:

IXC with privateers´ original Turm 1

IXC Schnelltauchback with historically more accurate Turm3 (standard Installation).

Btw: Just reread this thread: privateer gave general permission for further works. So thank you very much. What about WB and flakmonkey?

Leitender 04-03-13 05:02 AM

In the meanwhile, i created a matching skin for turm3:

Leitender 04-03-13 05:13 AM

Hello privateer,

i´m glad to get your attention. i will do few tests, but normally it should work, Then i´m going to publish this trial version. I hope, the other involved modders agree.

Yours sincerly

Leitender

Btw.: the compass disk is from hitman, telegraph from sale. Many thanks to you both too!

edit: Picture exchanged.

kurfürst 04-03-13 05:57 AM

Horrido Leitender,

great work!
I did a few things on the conning tower, too. I´ll try to post some pics later when I get home from work. Maybe we can share our results!

Beste Grüsse, Kurfürst

kurfürst 04-03-13 02:28 PM

So here are some pictures of what I´ve done. It´s sipmly adding some small bits and pieces to the existing conning tower to make it look more like a real IX C/40 with a "Schnelltauchback". I took pictures of U 190 as an example and added little things like a schnorchel air intake tube, a modified schnorchel mast with head, Flakschutzbügel, and so on. I also reworked parts of the textures to make it look more realistic. All things are just modifications of existing things or Mods done by others, so nothing "really new" from me.

I just wanted to have that "real" feel of such a type of U-Boat, thats why I started working on it. I once again have to thank Privateer for creating the Schnelltauchback, "Danke", mate!

Here are some pics:

Great news. I missed this schnorchel air intake tube and your new mod/addition looks fantastic!
