just been checking the new version and during the day its stunning!...but is anyone getting quite bad banding at night?

Captain von Keldunk 04-15-10 09:58 PM

banding at night

furby "is anyone getting quite bad banding at night?".
Yes I have it too, and I can reduce banding at night, but there is a
reason for banding. it affects fog and other visual stuff. that is
if I reduce banding at night I get also bad side effects.

Nice work Capt

Can you tell me what files you changed for the Sub Draft in your mod, i used to have Snorkel depth set at around 6.3mtrs for decks awash on my VIIC but since installing your mod it now goes to 12mtrs no matter what i try and i dont seem to be able to locate the reason why. any help would be appreciated.

I changed sub sim files, remove submarine folder from mod and you will get back stock sub sim files. It looks like changing sub draft was not a good idea so I wll change back in next update.
.........-----------.............
I will also try to adjust underwater and night banding problem. This time I will not change shaders, but take a step back and try to adjust underwater and night sky colors to reduce banding like I did in early versions of my mod.

good news...look forward to it

Taurolas 04-16-10 11:38 AM

Thanks for the update CVK, i'll look into it.

I also noted that the nights are extremely dark, not sure if it was the time of year but i couldnt see a ship less than 500mtrs away on a calm night with no fog or wind!

cheers

Nice work on v2.3, keep up the good work!

Did you try enviroment mod from W_clear? Because night there is very dark and here I find it kinda lighter :)
I`d like to see something inbetween these 2 great mods.

Hmm I have not had that problem I have ati 5770 also monitor settings etc
may affect what you can see. Also some people like dark night, others like lighter nights.

Thanks, downloading now!

I'm having a slightly different policy with mods, now. I still love try out the new stuff but instead I'm actively reducing the amount of mods installed at any one time to reduce issues.

There are, of course, certain enhancements that I wouldn't want to be without now though, this great mod being one of them!

Regards :salute:

Glad you like it. I am already testing next version,
I finally got undersea fog viewing distance working. problem was "undersea clouds" that you got if you tried to reduce viewing distance.it was a bug
in the clouds shader. Undersea part of the mod is now completely redone.:DL

Concur. Gorgeous skies! Thanks!

But 7thSeal what did you undo to get underwater clear blue back? I normally use Kapitan Zur See's Impurity Blue. I installed this last but apparently Captain von Keldunk is modding a filter or something.

Disable the mod with JSGME and navigate in the mod folder to SH5EnvModV"???"\data\Filters\ColorCorrection and delete the hdr_underwater.cfg file there. Re-enable with JSGME.
