I mean, not sure what else it could be, just looks a lot different than Jimbuna's.

Kaleu. Jochen Mohr 05-13-07 11:33 AM

i guess its just a piece of land

Jimbuna 05-13-07 11:40 AM

Sorry, but it looks like a land mass here :yep:

Umfuld 05-13-07 12:05 PM

I guess it is. All that fuel wasted in my iceberg trek. :nope:

Umfuld, you reached the ice shelf (I assume you went North and not South, otherwise you ran into Antarctica:lol:) Not much to it, icebergs are way better. Interesting that there are seagulls hanging around this far North.

Kaleu. Jochen Mohr 05-28-07 03:41 PM

:shifty: lucky ppl... most already have seen an iceberg...

Jimbuna 05-28-07 04:26 PM

managed to find some floating in the North Atlantic.

they are pretty hit or miss to find, so if you see any its more luck and good timing then anything

my screenie got deleted but i made a post awhile back. I saw mine just north of the outside of the AF sector. not to far from land either. It came as an unknown sound contact and as i went to ship cam...a big iceberg. Its weird because i was stalking a convoy at the time. Now i need dolphins. Off to spain.

They're quick little buggers, so keep a watchful eye ;)

Just like Telgriff said... I get one with hydrophone as a single merchant, slow... I was in some winter month, near "Greenland" (or "Gröenland", don't know). It was just an iceberg... I like to find it, even when it takes me out of m course for a while... Seeya!

In the Atlantic, sure have I been there lots of times...but never ran into one.Iceberg's are sneaky to sink your sub rather than a boat if you're not paying any attention to the hydrophone or whatever else..Just have your WO say "Iceberg spotted!"
