Go Sonanalysts!!

:shifty: Like I said, Sonalysts doesn't deserve to be crapped on about this. I'm glad you've seen the light. ;)

Go Sonanalysts!!

By the way, what do you have against Toyota? I had two cars of them:

1) Corolla 1.6 xli
2) Supra 3.0 Turbo

:rotfl:

Kurushio 07-02-06 06:25 PM

Absolutely, I take back everything I said about Sonalysts...and apologise for my hasty and misinformed judgement. I was pleasantly surprised by their Naval Combat pack...real value for money. And I'll definitely be buying it...

Toyota: Well I don't know :hmm:...Avensis 2004 (bought brand new): What has gone wrong since then?:
Changed steering rack (major fault and safety concern), wasted time by having to diagnose faulty steering rack TWICE (because they booked an appointment to have it changed, when I went there, they "lost" the paperwork and I had to rebook it to find out what was wrong with it...again!!!), so I wasted an hour for an unecessary investigative appointment because of their shoddy paperwork , 2 new headlamps (melting plastic housing dimmed them), had to go back for the headlamps cause they were letting in condensation, still have condensation in drivers side, have to go back yet again. Rear disc brakes marked, had to be shimmied. Marking reappearing, probably have to be replaced because you can only shimmy them once...I think. Leaking rear exhaust silencer box. Faulty alarm sensor, still have to take it for this. Car will not lock/unlock with keyfob...and maybe alarm doesn't arm. Passenger side trim falling apart. Carbon filter official recall by Toyota because of poor idling, wasted time taking it cause they said mine was fine. Though it still idles a bit roughly, maybe ECU though they say it's fine...whatever.

And you want to know what the worst part is? They tried to recoup some of the cost of the warranty work by over-inflating the price of jobs and adding it to my bill...though I told the manager he may eff off if he likes. Tyres 120 each... Got them for 79 each from local place...exactly same Bridgstones. Front pads 70 per cent worn...needed changing?!!! What about the other 30 per cent...I told him. Wanted to charge 180. Brake fluid change 90!!!?? Ford include it in the big service... Wiper blade 30...got it for 5. Wanted to charge 600 near enough...about a thousand US dollars...when I was quoted 190. I told him to eff off and paid 190.

And that's in a car which is 2 and a half years old. And look on the Toyota forums...mine is a typical example. Toyota have a false reputation for reliability and next time I will only buy German cars. :damn:

Just be careful and try to get some information from those who already have the car. My dad uses BMW's (company cars), and while they are good cars, they require frequent maintenance and it's not cheap. Also, rear-wheel drive can be hard to control when there's snow on the road. I and several others in the family drive Nissan cars, and they're very reliable, with cheap maintenance (but that may just be true here).

When I bought the car it was a brand new model...so couldn't ask advice from anyone about it...because hardly anybody had it...I think I was one of the first. But everyone was harping on about Toyota "reliability" so I jumped in. What a mistake!:damn:

I could have been one of those... I bought a T.Corolla with 130'000 Km at a low price and sold it almost at the same price with 200'000 Km after 3 years. All the mantainance she needed was Oil exchange every 10'000 and once I had to change a light bulb. This car was often Nr. 1 in reliability scoreboards...

The Supra 3.0 Turbo has been more demanding, but I had a chance to gather first hand info BEFORE I bought it, so I did know what the critical spots were.

I am surprised to ear that a new Toyota car has so many weak spots! Good to know

Yeah...maybe they used to make them reliable...I'd be a bit more wary nowadays.

Going back to topic.

What would BlackBean be able to do should one of the UK/Euro customers post the extra missions on line?

If the european version has the same license as the battlefront version (relevant excerpt from the battlefront license) :

"You shall not, in any way, modify, enhance, decode, or reverse engineer the Software. User created scenarios may be distributed free of charge, but shall not be sold, licensed, or included as part of any package or product that is sold or licensed, without prior written consent of Sonalysts. You may not rent or lease the Software or related materials."

So being non legal expert, it appears to me that user created missions can be shared freely among the owners of the different versions of DW.

Maybe someone should read the license of the european version and see what it states according to user created scenarios. I highy doubt nontheless that the license would be different (for the american dw, and for the european dw).

Well sorry, I would like to remain dedicated to Sonanalysts but it's apparent by their behaviour that they regard their customers as a bunch of idiots. I've learnt a long time ago to dump companies which act like this...

We granted an exclusive license to BlackBean to distribute the game in Europe. Any added content that was included in the European release was "their call" and they reserve the right to do whatever they choose with that content. And although we may have created the Mission Editor here at "Sonanalysts", we did so because we wanted you (the community) to make some terrific things with it which are YOURS, not ours (and therefore those in community who created the missions have granted BlackBean the right to use them in their release). There's nothing we can do about that...

With that said, I've put an email into them asking that they release that content at a later date and am waiting for an official response from them... :shifty:

Thanks Jamie, you've done your part. :)

Ok, that's not SCS's deal then. That's good.

The bottom line is that the members of the community that gave materials to BlackBean did so for the benefit of DW in exchange for (I assume) compensation based on a contractual relationship. In which case, the persons with the rights to the materials are the creators, and so they can deside what happens with their materials and when.

So we are going to have to wait for these materials to be released. That having been said, it doesn't appear that there is any legal protection for the rights to the missions... so in other words, the DW players who are not BlackBean customers are going go get the missions whenever Bill, Blackbean, or someone with a webspace who has the BB DW version and doesn't care about their reputation desides to post them.

Cheers,
David

We can only wait.
