I really enjoy the graphics in this game too much, I'll never have 100% realism just because I love watching the action.
DIDDO....I enjoy watching the action way to much to give up the camera. Other wise why did we sit up watching the old sub movies if we didn't love the action so much. You can't get the same feel from a book as watching "The Enemy Below", "Torpedo Run", "Operation Pacific", etc....
I love to sit back and read about it as well. You can't get that kind of information from a screen, but still there's nothing like watching that fish come out of the tube and head for it's target.

Since spending so many hours in the torpedo training room I have finally learned the manual targeting to the point that all my torps get fired manually. It was like having a light come on when all the pieces suddenly started falling together and I realized what needed to be done to manually target. The only other item that I have to use for now is the target/ sea motion thru the periscope. I little ways out from trying to target while my boat is rocking up and down. I'm not sure but I think that puts me at 92%.

:rotfl: Stereo typing are we??? Now if I said democrats are all communist some might agree but that would also be an ignorant stereo type and like nearly all are not true. We are strongest when all sides both respect and consider the others point of view..

We don't have to register anything here in Florida except full auto machine guns (Never had any interest in them)or if we want to carry a concealed weapon but that does not mean registering a weapon just getting a licence.

I do miss having an occasional view at new items but many things only go max difficulty if it is 100% and I do that with all my games. F1-2002 I do as hard as possible, AI 125%, Flight sims as hard as I can make it AI all Ace.
Just my preferance. Right for me but whatever you enjoy it at that is right for you!! (Fraulein Kaleunen!!! :rotfl: )

it take a hell of a lot of time and skill to do it on 100% most of the time you go straight to the bottom

Leaving cameras on, I love the shots of the merchants blowing up. Besides if you are playing on %100 and then use time compression, are you still "realistic"? I play it for the most game enjoyment, plus the challenge. So I try not to use the cameras to give me a tactical advantage, but every so often I do see something I missed w/ periscope or hydrophone. Trying to balance challenge vs enjoyment.

JonZ 02-08-06 09:05 PM

Always played at 100% difficulties.

I went a bit below when I started but it was mostly the cameras events and Stealth indicators activated.

If I did like most people, I would have quit this game long time ago. It so chalenging

Now I installed IuB 1.02 and Merchant Variety Packs. The game gets better. I even start short career with SHCommander.

The only Thing I set to custom myself is the water density, deck gun reload time and crew fatigue.

I now try to figure how to increase a bit the deck gun's damage as I find it quite too overcompensated. Trying to take out cargos deck gun's with RuB (integrated in IuB) seems a bit too unrealisticaly tough (even destroying cargo shipments like crates or 5t trucks is impossible).

Still playing with 100%

Not getting too far , still in 1939.

Emcon 02-09-06 08:32 AM

100% minus freeview, because I don't want to miss out on the graphics. But I don't use freeview to cheat. For me calculating firesolutions is part of the fun. :ahoy:

95% hit rate

Einbaum 02-25-07 12:53 PM

I play with only the external camera on...what is it? 94%? I also love the eye candy and taking screenies. Other than that, I've always used manual targetting except in the academy the first time...let's just say there are loads of unexploded torps laying about at the bottom...but I've pretty much got the hang of it now.
