I know this is kinda illegal, but can you take the SHIII disc out after it checks it, and then start it on a another computer? or will it check again for multiplayer?
And is there a way to copy the disc? NERO 6 doesn't quite work cause it's protected. :x |

A problem emerged today:
I was playing a campaign mission when error message appeared. It looked more or less like: Module 0x02622e87 caused the memory to 0x000000, memory cannot be read, OK to close the application, Cancel to debug. :nope: From that time on, I cannot play SH III. I can load game but when it comes to the very mission, I can see menus showing up and then the message appears. SH III repair as well as reload of all mods did not help. Any idea to to possible cause? I`m playing GW with extended unified campaign and a mix of integrated orders+GW menu. Thanks for any EDIT: OK ! Seems one of the newly dropped mp3s files was messing somehow up. |
I have had the problem before, but I just restarted and it worked again. Try doing a disk cleanup, diskcheck or defrag. If that doesn't work, just backup any game files and re-install. I have a hunch that there is a bad sector and it needs to be repaired.

Ok very annoying stuff happening here. On about patrol 8 or 9 the game throws me back to hte desktop!
I start silent hunter iii, it loads, click career - saved games - my save game, it loads, it says initializing for a long time and then bang! I'm at my desktop... I guess I could try to load a previous one but this isn't the first time this happens... generally even in game while playing I get crashes and stuff Anyone can help?? |
program errors can be found logged under administrative tools and under the event user in computer managment
(xp only) also use Dr.Watson32.exe under WINDOWS\system32 this logs errors for programs too. Then take the error dump to microsoft and figure out the error (this can be hard to find out) |

Hi all I hope this is the right place for this. I was having complete re-boot crashes with XP and SH3 with the 1.4b update and finally got a message from MS to download from windows update, the patch for my audio card (RtkHDAud.sys) This fixed it and I'm now able to start playing!!! Jason |

XXI depth problem
This is my very frist post in this forum and at first I would like to thank everyone for the information that lead me to aqquire the GW 1.1 mod and several others. They have enhanced my SH3 vanilla immensily.
However, I am experiencing a annoying problem when using XXI - type sub: It seems nearly impossible to maintain correct depth with it when seas are anything more than 5 m/s. I have spent hours trying to find a sollution to this problem from these forums, but was unable to spot one. 1. XXI at zero speed will steadily sunk for me. It seems crew won't adjust ballast tanks for depth at all (veteran - elite crew) 2. XXI at moderate winds (over 5 m/s) will start "bouncing" recklesly between depths of 9 - 29 m (ordered periscope-depth). Using any amount of time compression will multiply this effect. Crew is constantly switching between diesels and batteries. Even more serious - when trying to manouvre near enemy DD's, the boat will "jump" high enough for DD's to open fire at it. (very very frustrating). Effect seems to stabilize when TC goes up to 256 - 1024. 3. To figure out the problem I monitored the dive planes at F3 - view and witnessed how violently the crew where using them (I would've liked to correct them in a firm manner, but... ). In desperate effort to try and maintain the assigned depth, they seemed to do actually more harm than good - ie. adjusting them to maximum value "up" while travelling in high wave, which results the boat to "jump out" from the sea between waves. (Damn stupid sailors!). 4. As a result, I find myself "tending" depth constantly during attacks. A biggest problem for me as a commander during convoy-attack. ...not very realistic is it? To portray the immersion that biggest problem XXI - commander had, was to maintain the level depth during attacks? Question: 1. Am I the only one experiencing this problem? 2. Is there any way to adjust dive planes manually? (I'll do it myself, since these morons-for-a-crew can't handle it during critical manouvers) 3. Is there a way to Mod the values of XXI to minimize the effect? 4. Is there a way to remove this nerve-breaking "feature" any other manner? 5. I'd like to keep the sea-waves as they are - just make the boat run more "stabile" when it comes to dive-planes. I find it so annoying, that I consider sticking with D2's permanently - even though other then range, they were much more inferior to XXI in terms of capability. My mods: SH3 1.4b SH3cmdr 2.5 JSGME 1.4.0.49 Nomo GW 1.0 (actually it should be 1.1) vodkas_quiet_GW_clock Hollywood 1.4b V1 GW24 fatigue model Atmosphere mod 16km light Torpedo (enhanced torpedo damage to counter-balance NYGM mod) Finally, I must apologize for my bad english - not my native language. hi im wondering if someone could tell me why im not seeing some of the new ships in the convoys im attacking in my career mode. and is this the right forum to post this thread? ive downloaded most of AG124s ships and installed them.also ive got U-234s canard liner.i see all these ships in the museum when i log into the game,but out on patrol in my career mode i just see the stock SH3 ships:hmm: im currently running GW 1.0 and 1.1 with hotfix overlay,and GW-unified campaign which i installed manually.and a couple other mods like fubars crew skins,and the tanker seafloor mod.im wondering do i need to script these new ships into the game somehow or what. i love sinking ships in this game,but the same old ones bores me to death it would be neat to come across a auxiallary cruiser,or an empire celt tanker the new ship with credits to the mod designer AG124.any help with this would be awesome.

Have you placed them into the individual 'Sea' folders for each nation in the 'Roster' folder? That's where they are chosen from when a convoy is formed.
