So, can I check this with you guys?
As I don't have my original SH5 CD anymore, I have to rely upon Uplay to restore my game. I can remove the game out of the (x86) directory (as Peter suggests) and maybe then uninstall Uplay - will this enable me to go back to TWoS? |

I'm still not sure do all players who have bought their games trough the uplay have problems or only some? :hmmm:

Moved SH5 to another drive. Uninstalled Uplay.
Applied TWoS as per instructions. No joy - my SH5 requires Uplay to be installed and will not run without it. Got the usual message as per screenshot. https://i.imgur.com/g2SmUcE.png |

Download for v2.2.16 test version will be ready in a hour or so on this link...https://www.mediafire.com/file/hvdw0..._Test.exe/file
Reinstall the game, update it to official v1.2.0 and make sure that the stock game works. Then install WoS and tell us is there any difference. This installer will automatically execute SH5.exe replacement and also uplay will be disabled by the Generic Patcher. After you're done with the mod installation , start the game by clicking SH5.exe directly... |

If you are saying you moved the game by using copy or cut and paste then you will get an error message because your SH5 saved game folder does not recognize that the game has been moved. Quote:
As you had both the game and the game launcher in the same folder uninstalling both would be way to go. A fresh install of both will stop any likely corruptions being left over. Check that your SH5.exe is showing version 1.2 Peter |
Just to add, I would recommend applying the CCleaner program after the un-install of all the suggested SH5 and Uplay programs, BEFORE starting a new SH5 installation away from the "Program Files (x86)" folder on the C: drive
A very important part of the CCleaner program is the tab that allows a clean out of all the Registry items that get left behind after the un-install. |
Apologies for the late response, gentlemen.
@Peter - yes, I simply moved the installed game to another drive. So I will uninstall Uplay & SH5 and use CCcleaner as recommended by you guys. Once I've completed that, will do a clean install (but not in the x86 prog folder) and then apply: http://www.mediafire.com/file/hvdw0i..._Test.exe/file Thanks for quickly taking the time out to help. Edit: Unfortunately this hasn't worked. If I launch through the SH5.exe, it asks for my CD key (which I lost ages ago). If I launch through Uplay, I get the usual ctd after the splash screen with the small radar icon bottom right has loaded. https://i.imgur.com/CyrDw00.png https://i.imgur.com/uBFh6Vv.png https://i.imgur.com/yjxxKs9.png |
