"Children of the Corn"
Publicity for Children of The Corn series; I know of these but don't believe I've seen any of them (are they so dreadful I just don't remember them?)

(Also known as "ignis") Another methane-based phenomenon perhaps, but I have inserted this as a serious element in this thread because we live very near the marshes here and, although I've never seen ignis or Jack o' Lantern myself, that could be because I'm not stupid enough to go wandering about out there after dark. |

Another one I'd be interested in seeing is St. Elmos fire... http://www.thethirdcity.org/blog/wp-...lmos-fire1.jpg NO...no...no, no, no, no. No Not that... :nope: http://www.electricuniverse.info/wik...%27s_fire2.jpg Of course, the likelihood of the ship or object being hit by lightning shortly after is pretty high, so there's that...but it must be quite pretty. Also Foo fighters http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...o_Fighters.jpg No...well...maybe a couple of songs...but... http://www.santafeghostandhistorytou...s/r0300240.jpg These fellas, interesting atmospheric apparitions. :yep: I wonder if they're still seen... or perhaps it was something to do with the atmospheric disturbances caused by a large formation of aircraft. :hmmm: |

(Quoted from OBERON: These fellas, interesting atmospheric apparitions. :yep: I wonder if they're still seen... or perhaps it was something to do with the atmospheric disturbances caused by a large formation of aircraft. :hmmm:[/QUOTE] Mention of the "foo fighters" reminded me of the "Haunebu" or Nazi flying saucers, a subject I've always found intriguing. I first saw mention of these in an issue of "The Fortean Times" many years ago, where I believe they investigated unexplained circular concrete installations lost in the depths of what would have been German territory during WW2. These circular installations had what appeared to be grooves which might have housed powerful electrical conduits, suggestive of experimentation with electromagnetism. |
