Wolferz, if you get both crappers, you can ship one to me....and none of that COD crap.

So you want an antique tub for just a little moolah?:hmmm:
I wish you luck. It might be time to hit an estate sale at an older property.

He'd have better luck at getting the claw foot that way AND maybe a cheap crapper to boot.

It's for the big moolah...Dang tubs cost an arm to get blasted and enameled, think I'll try sandpaper and a can of spray paint....

You will wear out your arm before you get the enamel off that tub. the spray paint will only make it look okay, but I don't think it will be serviceable.
Have you got a used household appliance store/Sally Ann or a cut rate appliance store? Or watch for people tearing down old turn of the century houses.

Armistead: 2 PMs coming.

Aktungbby 01-17-14 11:52 PM

@ Armistead: I hit estate sales looking for old watches to restore..... Lots of Victorians and antique furnishings shops in Napa. PM me yur $$ range and style(S) preference for tub and I'll look harder; usually on weekends, for old tubs, including old French Empire style. Also have u googled recycle-torn down house inventories?

Armistead 01-18-14 08:54 AM

They make decent reproductions, but searching for the right antique. We have numerous dealers here, but I prefer to ride around looking at all the old houses and making offers for stuff. Just got a beautiful wrought iron gate for $50 and a nice mantle. Found one tub I like, but cost about $700 to get restored.

Thanks for the links swamp, I'll check that one out...

I do some shopping at both S-A and T-S.

Just finished installing new kitchen faucet. Had to put new shut-offs in as well. Amazingly, no leaks and it actually works.

As Mr. Green says, "if women don't find you handsome, they can at least find you handy."
