*1 Your conclusion is just flat out wrong.

*2 Seems to me you need to check the attitude along with that chip on your shoulder.

*3 there is all the proof you need that always online DRM was removed from all ubisoft games.

*1 No it is not, the log files are real, They have Waaaaaaaaaay more say so that you do at this time. Because they write out the infomation to WHY it failed, plain and simple. Like I said I have contacted Ubisoft regarding this problem, they requested the log infomation, I have sent them and they tell me they turned it over to thier softwere TECH's That is all there is to it.

*2 I did check my attitude and have no chip on my shoulder, if you think I do, then your upset because I am telling it like it is. I will never suger coat a lie...I am going to tell it like it is, of what I have done, and what has failed. If it is not liked, then I do not know what to say except too bad. I am not gonna lie and say all is good when it is not. If you tell me I am pretending, I will show the logs, I may know a little, but not enough to false the program logs. And you may see the logs the game produce and start telling me about everyone else works and my attitude, wich is nice and dandy but dose nothing for the exsisting problem, so it is a failed comment, see? Because the game logs do not lie, and tell more infomation on the fail...In short, they too tell it like it is as well.

Am I to belive my own game log is lying because you say so? Umm NOPE...

I have better things to do then create a bunch of made up none sense to get attention that will do nothing but make enemys and people to hate me. Bottom line. I think that is simple enough to understand...

*3 Thank you, but my game in OFFLINE mode DOSE WORK, how ever also disconnected from the internet Will NOT WORK, so all that is equal to and same as you telling me why my car should not be broke down because we have the same car...Very simple to understand I think.

This in NOT a illeagle copy, it was bought from a Amazon retailer on Amazon as a new game, plain and simple. I have the receipt to show for, and including all paper work to show for it. I have ordered new games from Amazon retailers before. I never delt with illeagle copies ever in my life for any game. Unless your trying to say the Amazon retailer is selling illeagle copies, YOU BEST watch that claim, because I will take leagle action against Amazon, and it will be with extreem prejudice. This will cause a investagation against the retailer. Alot is ridding on your claim. Buying a new game per say from a Amazon retailer and finding out it is a illeagle copy is against the law, there for action must be taken! I always get the games new, I personaly do not belive the Amazon retailer is selling illeagle copies of the game. The Code number worked fine no errors on install, and that is also plain and simple to understand...

Now as for the more logical and relistic question on your list...

No I have no mod program or mod installed. I question mod programs that alter or change game system files that have no infomation on its purpose to "WHY" it dose. A good pratice to fallow... The only mods I use are mainly simple dragg and drop mods because I am use to this from S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion, Elder Scrolls V:SkyRim games.

No I never installed any mod in any game untill I have it up and running and tested first to make sure it is good to go. Then I will place in the mod and start a new game...

When I unistalled SH5 I even made sure all directories for SH5 were deleted.

I installed SH5 fresh new, Started the game online to make sure it works, then exited, then start in offline mode dissconnected from the internet, this is the same thing I have to do for SkyRim on STEAM. The abort log I have pasted into the post is from this last try.

Now this I have not tried yet and is the first time suggested...

"Go to the Uplay site and download the installer for Uplay (disregard the fact a copy comes with the game, download the latest installer from their site)"

ok I will try it this way...

*Just a foot note;

-I have a version text that says "995", that is all it says.

-In a "licenses.txt" it refs to a third party API's have been used to create the Ubisoft Game Launcher. This was part of the Disk version install.

-Now I have these two logs that say...
"orbitdll_game_log.txt" AND "orbitdll_launcher_log.txt"
...these are blank.

from what I have gotten out of his report (if I get it correctly) what he is saying is the problem isn't setting the game to run in offline mode but the fact that if you unplug the internet connection to the PC the game stops working.

this is where I think a lot of people are getting mixed up.

what he is saying (if I get it correctly) is that when playing the game you must have an internet connection connected to the PC or it stops working. so its not about wether the game is in online or offline mode but that even in offline mode the game shuts down if its not seeing an internet connection.

my own thoughts on this is I bet its related to the games online saves feature somehow

Run the DbgView app found in my UIs mod \data\Applications\DbgView. Fire up the game in offline mode. Look at the entries the game is spewing out. Even though it's in offline mode you'll see entries like:

OSIPing: xxxxxxxx

So yes the game is still communicating with home even in offline mode.

In my post #21 page 2, there are two pics, I have no way to past the whole pic in the text spot on the fourm, But if you click on the lil pics, they WILL display what I have done. Yes my name shows up on the bar. I CAN start UP the game in OFF-LINE mode all the way to the menu. BUt when I go to to play a SAVED game or START a new game, it loads and then stops leaving me a Inet message of a NO connection, aborts and takes me BACK to the menu. The two pics are in my POST #21 page 2, they are the small pics below the post, Click on them to expand and you will see for yourself.

But NO ONE wants to LOOK :o...Instead of looking for them to see what I am talking about. It is easer to claim "I do not see a THING..." mock me and make me a fool or lyer WHEN THE PICS ARE RIGHT THERE! Than be ANY kind of help. So due to this action I realized that the problem can not
be-resolved because it is beyound anyone's understanding. Its $8.00 junkwere with a ball and chain, I will put up with it.

Concerning offline00.JPG (2 of 2), could it be a windows firewall problem not a Uplay offline or online issue. Perhaps the computer still sees Hunter 5 entries or associated file names blocked even if the firewall is disabled? Have you gone into the firewall properties in the control panel? Look for programs entries? Silent Hunter 5 entries should be removed, possibly shutdown and restart to clear registry entries?

So you were trying to load online savegames with the internet connection switched off :06:

This is why in my checklist I specifically said run the game in online mode first, this saves a local copy of his most recent cloud saves to his drive, thereafter running the game in offline mode he has access to all his saves. I also suggested he ensures he has the most recent version of uplay, the version shipped on the disk was provided before they added an offline mode. While you would assume it would auto update, my checklist was done in the order it was so as to minimize the chances of anything going awry. I will guarantee he responded without even trying as I suggested, had he done, he would have no problem running the game now.

His copy of the game is no different to anyone else, suggesting as much is simply asinine.

Trying to just play the game itself, because I do not always have Inet connection available...So since I do not, the game sits some place on the back burner 99% of the time. Once in awhile I will play it, if I have the time to be stuck on the internet.

This is were I get confused because when I look in the SH5 folders, I see the save files...

*1 100% redundant because this is all been coverd before...

I did down loaded the launcher you requested, I thought when it list SH5 as one of my games it was a short cut for install. I had the disk in. It ended up installing from the uplay server. So now I have the collectors edition. so it must be useing the code number for the game stored in the server.

Anyway.....

You can say what ever your little hart desires, get mad call me names and make a fool out of me all you want..

But the game logs says..

which is asinine to LOOK at this log file and tell me....
"His copy of the game is no different to anyone else, suggesting as much is simply asinine."

So what your saying is, that if your disconnected from the internet you can not play eaither...Because I take the Game log file as fact. Regardless what you say. The only thing on your list that was new was downloading the installer.

How ever there is a difference in the DVD version I got and this download version. The download version plays smoother and better, were the DVD lagged once in a while stall. How ever even the download version stops playing too, Could it be I need to start the new game connected to the inet and save it first, then exit everything then disconnected and go into the game?

Because this I do know, the "His copy of the game is no different to anyone else" means "Zero", "Null", "0" to me because MY game logs show FROM THE GAME ITSELF, the game was aborted because no Inet connection..The game LOGS stands firm....

You are the one who has been doing all of the "getting mad" and calling people names. Your opening statement here, "You can say what ever your little h(e)art desires", is indicative of this continuing attitude. Despite what you may think, no one here is trying to make you look foolish. People do want to help. The fact is that most people do play the game offline with no trouble, which at first glance would indicate that the problem is somewhere at your end. On the other hand if what you say about unplugging the computer's online connection is true then maybe they haven't tried that.

You could be right, or it may be something else. To them I would say at this point they should disconnect from the web and see if that replicates your problem. To you I suggest calming down and stop taking everything as a personal attack. This is one of the best communities on the web, and the absolute best where naval simulations are concerned. They really are only trying to help. You would to well to respond in that spirit.

Never had problems loading local savegames with the internet connection unplugged. I haven't ever tried doing the same with a game which was previously saved with the U-play option "Enable Cloud Save..." though.

Exactly :yep:

@ Kessner

this is an overally relaxed community. Many of its members regard each others as friends, and they are interacting in a polite way without need by moderators to remind them of the basic netiquette rules.
Personally I don't mind about your attitude (though, with all the due respect, I find it rather funny), but persisting in it won't help you getting new friends here :03:

Chill ... stop with the negative ways

This looks like the start of your problem:

So the game has to have a internet connection regardless? Because that is what the log looks like to me...

Well now that would depend on which Axis nation would be doing the passing buy. And just becouse they were Allied didnt always mean that they would be nice and play well with others either.

im no expert but from what I have picked up by seeing you guys work through this (if I understand correctly whats going on) is maybe the game still checks for and has to see the internet connection even thou its not sending or receiving data by it. if this is the case then in truth there is no drm but the game still needs an internet connection.

what did ubisoft say about this issue when you explained the problem to them? did they have anything to explain it?
