Yes it is and im not ashamed to admit it :) I am part of the 'we all' too, I lie to myself everytime I tell myself its all gonna be ok, when i know that if history is anything to go by, we are likley heading for another great depression and possibly another great war.
-although you could be bold enough to explain to me where you are coming from on this?

Perhaps I should change my sig quote to: "We can ignore reality but we cannot ignore the consequences of reality".

In regards to the Doc, i know its a long shot for the guy - but one can hope, It would be nice to see the USA lead by someone who cares a about the core values the nation was founded on, has a fair bit of intellegence and has a spine to boot.

And what would those core values be?

Killing Indians and taking their land?
No rights for women
Importing and owning slaves
Child labor
General Labor exploitation

Those traditional American values? :D

I thought we were the ones who killed the Indians and took their land...

Oh, THOSE Indians...

My bad...

No the Brits killed both kinds of Indians and stole their land, they just held to some of the land longer.

See, now that's the type of equal opportunities empire we were! :yep:

It was the Native American's fault for being on our land first.

here is a history tip: Never find yourself between an expansionist country and a coastline. It will not bode well for your future. :D

We stole countries with the cunning use of flags. Just sail around the world and stick a flag in. "I claim India for Britain!" They're going "You can't claim us, we live here! Five hundred million of us!" "Do you have a flag ***8230;? "What? We don't need a flag, this is our home, you bastards" "No flag, No Country, You can't have one! Those are the rules... that I just made up!...and I'm backing it up with this gun, that was lent to me from the National Rifle Association."

I sometimes think the policy followed by the natives of the various "savage" tribes was sound: strangers come to your land, particularly missionaries, and try to impose their will, instantly become dinner...
