And Grant,

Those after pictures were not taken at the Flying Saucer if you remember correctly.
That was down the street South of the Flying Saucer, on the other side of the street.
Wish I could remember the name of the place as the Guys there did us a huge Meal!!

Yeah...steaks as I recall :sunny:

That he was. At first I thought he was just bumming smokes but then he stayed and tried to join the converstation. Quite an odd character.

Then of course there was Jim's new bested buddy a few hours earlier and back up the road the the Flying Saucer:

Yeah, that first guy had travelled quite a way for a barmans job interview and was out of money as I recall....but that didn't put Todd off him :DL

The guy in the bottom photo was Joshua, an ex Special Forces member, he was in Houston for a divers course and hoped to work on the offshore rigs after qualifying.

I remember telling him I was gay shortly before that photo was taken...he said he knew I was joking but did tense up a little when I put my arm around his shoulder for the photograph :har:

All kidding aside, that's absolutely one of the coolest things I've heard.

Aye that...we once numbered 20+ and came from all parts of the globe that included South America, North America (including Canada), Europe (including the UK, Wales Scotland and Ireland) and Australia....and I've probably missed a few

OOOOHHHH! I love this topic :DL
I never forget the best Tx BBQ I ever experience. It was when working in
the offshore oilfields with a whole crew of Texans. Every once in a while
we would have some time (due to a shut down on the rig) that the the
guys would get all the stuff needed plus beer for the whole crew (8 guys).
We had (thanks to the welders) all of the best BBQ pits that could be made.
And also the guys (from memory) would make BBQ sauce from scratch that
was to this day the best I ever had. We knew we had enough time to
cook those pork racks and baby backs to perfection and we had a whole
55gal steel drum full of ice and beer. Enough beer to chip away at the whole day.
Now you have to understand, all this had to be done with discretion.
All seamed to know - anyone who messed this up for us would have a "tuff
time" so to speak. So everyone was on their best behavior.

That was the best man!

The Grey Wolves never sunk any rigs....just beer

Madox58 09-07-11 06:27 PM

Getting that many Grey Wolves together was the reason We went Down Town.

Not to mention the fact that 'Manual Labor' was going to be done on things We usually try to sink.

OK.
'Manual Labor' was reason enuff to just not show up!
:haha:

OK! OK!!
It was Grants fault!! He went for a walkabout and found this really cool Tram system that took you RIGHT OUT FRONT OF BARS!!!
:o

We were obligated to enjoy what Houston spent so much money createing!

And of all the Big Cities I've been in over the years?
I'd go down town in Houston again in a heart beat!
