4 players competent with each is very good.

It looks like these teams are acceptable then. Here's what happens next: OneShot is making some adjustments to CADC to prevent me from getting a peek at the Rebel briefing room. That should be done by this evening, and after that, we'll distribute the passwords. Then you'll have someplace safe from prying eyes to talk about what units you want to buy and plan your opening moves. =)

Awesome ! This sounds like it's going to be a blast !! LITERALLY !!!! :DL

Are we going to have to handle our own TMA for the missions or are we going to autocrew it ? I'm fine with both, but with a LOT of contacts out there, it's obviously a lot easier to be using the autocrew. I also like to have the autocrew handle the active intercept sonar as having to switch back to that screen to mark a contact in time to catch the signal is a (expletive). Other than those suggestions, I'm fine with any settings.

I'm also going to make an effort to learn the FFG. So far, I don't know if it's a bug or not, but when I launch the helo, it flies around until it runs out of fuel and crashes on me. It would be nice if the thing would radio back that it's reached "BINGO" fuel so I can manually bring it back.

Molon Labe 08-16-11 04:53 PM

You know, TLAM and I never talked about settings rules. I would say all autocrew can be allowed by default but we can lock out autocrew by.... hmmm... supermajority? Maybe unanimous?

And obviously, all the "cheats" would be locked off. No-brainer there.

In any case, I much prefer to play with aTMA off.

There are a few autocrews that I do use like surf ESM, CM and TMA and Air ESM, and sub acoustic intercept (its automated IRL) the others I go manual.

I say we just have the host set them to not controlled and let the players decide which autocrews they use. But I would prefer the subs have no auto TMA but thats not a show stopper for me (FFG TMA is a PITA).

Sounds like we're in agreement then.

The forums are squared away, so it's time to get started.

Loyalist team, report to the CADC forums. PM me there to receive your briefing room password.

Rebel team, do the same but PM TLAM for the password.

It looks like brand-new registrees can't post in those forums yet, but if you encounter this problem just let me know and I'll promote you so that you can. I've also asked Oneshot to change the forum permissions so it doesn't happen in the first place.

EDIT: Oneshot has fixed the issue. New users should be able to post now without problems.

Molon Labe 08-19-11 01:06 AM

We've got something like 18 people signed up and I think less than half have actually reported to their briefing rooms. Which begs the question...

Hi ML,
I think could be useful if you can list the missed people, to raise its attention to the campaign organization on CADC.

Maybe the holiday period in EU take a part in people absence...

Campaign

Tally ho, I've had an account here for awhile but am just know getting into the forums. This venture sounds like something I would be interested in. Is it to late to join the campaign? I'd be willing to help with administrative records if that matters.

My strengths are US Nucs (688i and Seawolf), with moderate skill on Russian Nucs and even the Kilos. I am a pilot in life and my family has a history of officers in the USN flying ASW patrol craft, so I am proficient with the Helos and P3s as well. The FFGs I am fair at, but they are probably my weakest of all platforms. On Nucs (US specifically) I am quite adept at stations - particularly TMA and Sonar.

If I can still get in on this, let me know what I need to do and if I need to get any mods (I am running DW1.04 ATM).

Thanks and look forward to hearing back!

LCDR ALAN

On the loyalist side, that would be 4 people missing:
Roni_PL (I think he's on vacation now.)
szwagier (From DangerousWaters.pl)
Grindler (Also from there.)
Achtachtel (?)

Perhaps they've decided to join the rebellion... ;-P

Well, we had assumed an equal number of players on each side, so it would be unfair for one side to have an extra player. That said, not everyone has shown up on our side yet, and one guy has gone on vacation, so we're currently short. If that continues to be the case, maybe you could fill in for one of them, if you don't mind the fact that if/when that player came back, they would have priority. (I think the other side has extra players who are rotating in, so it has some precedent.) There's also a chance that we may end up permanently short a player, if somebody doesn't show up...

Anyway, those are just my thoughts on the matter. What really matters is what Molon Labe and TLAM Strike, the two GMs, think. Send Molon Labe a message and see what he says. :-)

In case of needs, Betasom team can release an additional player to balance the official number of participants to the two groups.
Hope this help.
