I envy NYC and NE and the jizzloads of snow they get every winter.

Down here in D.C., all we get is a few inches at best; damn the warm Chesapeake Bay!

The Chesapeake Bay creates all kinds of strange weather patterns for MD/DC. Our snow totals as of late and last year have been quite high here in MD. All summer rain storms have tracked out of the south. The past snow fall storm tracked out of the south. They will continue to track out of the south. Eventually we will be nailed again.

Well, I know of a little boat in Baltimore that looks like a submarine might be taking a little trip on Sunday.

Around here, we don't get confined, we just tough it out and go to work anyways. Now take that same photo, add 2 feet of snow, and 90 minutes to your commute.

It's a really bad sign when the snow plows are stuck in traffic.

I'd imagine business grinding to almost a halt especially retail. What kind of people would go out unless really necessary.

Cold, slippery and slow business and the dangerous commuting back and forth from home to work only to find yourself checking subsim and youtube once at work :damn:.

You'd be surprised, most areas that I've lived in that have regular heavy snowfalls, they don't stop, they just slow down.

I found out that one of my co-workers was stuck on the road for 11.5 hours before she was able to get home (30miles)

Another of my co-workers was stuck in traffic for over 9 hours... with two small children....one in diapers.....She only had one spare diaper....nine hours.

I can't imagine being stuck in your car for 11 hours. Sure I have driven longer hours but to be stuck like that must really stynk.

Sounds like you are talking about I83 northbound out of Baltimore. It was a mess with the last storm.

270 was a goat-screw, too, and at one point, iirc, 70 was closed in both directions out near Fredneck.

The roof of an auto repair place down the street from me collapsed from the weight of all the snow on top of it last night. Five feet of snow the ground, and I'm moving in three weeks. Going to be fun! :damn:
