Tried everything I can think of to get mines, icebergs, and now the subnets to take damage but they won't. Torpedoes pass right through the subnets but yet if you try to take your sub through it you collide with it :hmmm: Well it's better than nothing. Now with subnets you won't be able to harbor raid easily anymore :D

I'll release a test version of the subnets here very soon.

That means you will put more mines in all campaigns?

Another anomoly with the subnets. Once you collide with it if you continue colliding with it you slowly 'punch' through the subnet. Think of it as the net cutters located on the bow doing their job. All the time you are slowly 'punching through' you are colliding and thus very loud collision noise is heard.

I am thinking at Magnum - but anyway great job - maybe Ubisoft can share with you the profit they are making on SH5 - with your mods i am sure that you putted a lot of money in their pockets:D

Does the damage increase the more you do this?

Anyone can learn how to edit the campaign files. Magnum said he will do it if others join him as it's a monumental task to redo all the campaigns.

The nice thing about the mines, subnets, icebergs, and hopefully coastal defenses is that they can be added to the common parts of the campaign. The common parts are shared by ALL campaigns. Thus you only need to do the work once with these. You can also just make another layer in the campaign for each or combine all them into one new layer.

As far as Ubisoft sharing profits - yeah right. It will be a cold day in hell before that happens.....

I made their armor level 200 so there's no chance of inflicting damage to them.

The whole problem of them not taking damage from bullets or torpedoes has to be because the 3D model is in a .dat file rather than a .GR2 file. I'm almost certain of this.

Great work! I think that the campaign is the heart of the game and it would be really nice if all these new things would be added to it. I know it's a lot of work and it should be divided somehow. Maybe somekind of open campaing.zip that people fix one bit at the time. Small things help too, like put the airplane carrier in the first campaign to the right supposed place. If it's not too complicated I maybe could do something too.

Excellent stuff TDW, thats almost all sh5's shortcomings fixed:yeah:.

All thats left now to complete Sh5 for me is to figure out how to get skins displaying randomly with the same shiptypes at the same time.
Hopefully we can get the old ship types (.dat) imported with full collision detection, that way the old way of getting the skins to display random will most likely work with them compared to the GR2 format. :hmmm:

Then I'll restart the ship reskin mod, if no luck there I should be ok to help with the campaign rework :up:.

why don't both of you get in contact with Magnum. I will assist if you all need help. The easist way I see to add all this is to make new layers in the Common part of the campaign. Each person (or group) can be assigned a layer to add the items (mines, subnets, icebergs, etc.). By making them in the common part of the campaign they will be available to ALL campaigns. No reason to do the work more than once :yep:

EDIT:

going to work on the damage inflicted by the mines. Still not satisfied with it. The changes I make will have no impact to campaign or single mission mines placed in them. I'm just changing the symantics of it.

EDIT2:

The only thing to realize is that the mines add 2 new entries in the zones.cfg file. We'll need to make a standardized zones.cfg file that includes all changes made by all modders (mainly acrlight and I are the only ones who have messed with that file)
