What happened mate?

If I send it again, will you be able to use it?

mr chris 12-25-10 07:37 AM

My fault mate,
When i went to receive it I pressed the wrong tab and it ended up in my Items menu.
Could not open it from there or move it. The only options the game gave me were to delete it or send it to a friend.
So i thought the best thing to do was to send it back.
Sorry for using up a gift card for nowt.

Oh on a side note.
Great Christmas presents here.
Got a Driving force GT wheel and F1 2010. :DL

I'm sorry for the necromancy, but something just happened to me on GT5 that I HAD to share with everybody for the sake of good laughs.

So, there I was, trying to finish a race quickly before the wife got back home. It was B-Spec, Nurburgring 4 hour endurance.

I sat in front of the tv to mess around with my bob (generic name for your b-spec driver), just to have some fun, while I was driving a Formula GT car (like a F1 car), the other racers were driving stupid 300hp turismo cars, hiihhi... Then I noticed my driver wanted to pit for fuel. I looked at the fuel and said, "nah, you have enough for 1 more lap". Bah... I forgot that we're talking about the HUGE 25km long Nordschleiffe track. No figure, after 2 min into a 7 min lap, I ran out of fuel. The game is nice enough to put you at a low speed till you can pit again, but damn... that means 80km/h for the whole 25km track!

... I was watching while everybody passed me by, with stupid cars at 250km/h while I was looking like a turtle.

The lap was 23 minutes long. ONE lap.

But it gets worse. During the lap, I thought "lets bug bob", and I pressed X twice, which normally means radio command -> increase pace, as I always leave the cursor over "increase pace" button. But I had forgot that my last command for him was "cancel pit stop".

Yes... you're probably laughing by now.

I canceled the pit stop for the next lap, and I had to do 2 complete laps in the 25km long track at 80km/h.

:damn:

EPIC ALERT!!! GT5 SPEC 2.0 IS COMING IN OCTOBER!!! FOLLOWED BY DLC!!!!! :D

Due to a YLOD on my PS3 Phat, I went out and bought a new slim, but had to start from scratch.

Picked up a cheap Alpine (A-330? the later model with the hatchback look). Put in a few power mods and took it for a spin............. or, maybe a roll would be more appropriate. Brake into a corner, and as you try and power out, the car stands on 2 side wheels and does a burnout, or completely rolls over if you push it. Twisty tracks are a nightmare with this thing. :haha:

Managed to pick up most of the classic American muscle cars from the online dealer. :yeah:

Only just realised that there are some easy caps to be made in the seasonal races. All this time I've been grinding in A-spec............. moron. :shifty:

Got my Phat re-balled, but still sitting on CFW.

ajrimmer42 10-05-11 11:43 AM

yeah I only just started playing the Seasonal stuff, averages like 450k for a 5 lap race :D awesomez!

Mid race saves for endurance races will be great.

I just did the first 2 hour race (60 laps) last night, and I lost count of the times I fell alseep at the wheel. Still won by 6 laps in the end.

Was dreading the 24Hr series.

EDIT - Support for the G25!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOO.

Now to choose a cockpit......

Mid-race save feature for endurance races.
That, I think, will be the biggest and most welcome change - at least for me. The reason I've not yet done any endurance races is because I can't commit to x-amount of hours of continuous gameplay, nor do I want to leave my 40GB Fat paused for extended periods! :yeah:

Settings sheet which allows you to save multiple car settings.
For me, that's the biggest plus in Spec 2.0. At the very least it allows me to maintain a setting for offline play and a setting for online play, where the setups and physics are different.

Just FYI, these are only the items Kaz saw fit to tell us, there'll be more hidden away in the update.

Although I'm still waiting on working and accurate fuel gauges in the cockpits.:x
