You are aware that theory paraphrased in the article you have linked borrows heavily on human evolutionary theory, are you not? It essentially tells us that the human desire for fats and salts is rooted in the requirements for the evolutionary development of the human brain that would have transpired on as man evolved into the modern Homo sapien. |
Let's get back to building the ULTIMATE pork product sandwiche. :yep: :yeah:
|
The reason that (Orthodox) Jews and any other practicing denomination that chooses to, doesn't eat pork, is that traditionally i.e 1000's to hundreds of years ago, pork carried trichinosis. Perhaps it still does, but with modern manufacturing process, that danger has been minimized to eliminated.
It is a traditional practice based on common sense, for health reasons. My guess is that it is the same for Muslims. You may not choose to eat it for whatever health reasons...but it does smell delicious! |

The only thing I find unusual is that someone who has such a lengthy post history detailing utter distain for evolutionary science would cite it to support an assertion. It is an assertion that I have come to agree with, but from the stance of your stated personal philosophy, it is very illogical. |
