Indeed if its true. Then Ubi would have to be listed as and organized crime syndycate.

At this point if this is the patches we get, id just as soon have the support dropped so the modders who want to make the game better dont have to go back through their work to make their mods compatable with the new patches. Its a shame they have to do it in the first place. Modding should be to add new and exciting content rather than fix what the devs and ubi F up. And i dont what to hear the crutch "sh3 and sh4 were released in the same state" that doesnt make it right. UBI has essentially stolen from us 3 times with hyped up games that failed to deliver and only do deliver from countless hours of selfless volunteer work.

And sure the graphics are beautiful but its a sub sim. your in the ocean... not much else too it. it doesnt have to be a phezzazy block buster beautiful game. Flight sims need it more than sub sims as there is more to the enviornment. And in SH you spend more time in the nav map then most other things. A sub sim is about the game play. the flashy graphics dont make it fun, they make it pretty. the game play makes it fun.

i would have preferred to see a big explosion....but at least DD gave the alarm with sirens :nope:

Allright, then here is the first positive feedback. From me, the Ubi hater.

Truth is, I have not enough time to test it, only 1 hour of play.. raid start in WOW :D So, all I did was to remove all mods (hope everybody did this before playin the patched game!!!) and jump in the game. My last save was near a friendly port with no torps on board. So I refited and headed out to the sea on max speed.

First improvement I saw, my fps was way better in the interior of the sub. I have a single core cpu and I can say the fix for this is real, I can see now the water splash, explosions and all that stuff that was not designed for thse kind of cpu's.

The friendly AI is not tring to ram me when I'm close to a base, also they do their best to avoid hit the shore or other ships. Man the gun and flak gun works, also the morale system. This is not changed on save/reload, also the weather stay the same.

I had luck and I found very fast a big convoy and I ordered a blitz attack from the front side, sneaking between the escort ships. In the rush, I had no time to test properly the stadimeter, but it seems to work good, but Im not 100%. Anyway, once the right range is set up, the computer fails to track it as it does with the AoB. So right before I fire the tubes, a last range check is needed.

I hit on the bow a tanker and I had the surprise to see the ship sink after 5 minutes. This never happened before with the stock game. Before, the blasted ship or sunk right away, or was sailing without any floating problems. The escort ships reaction was good, only 4 DD from the 20 started to hunt me. This time they were smarter and few of them actually stopped right above me waiting for me to surface. But soon as I dived under 150m they lost my track. Now.. I'm not sure if this is still a bug or is the real deal. I have the Albreicht coating so maybe this helps now to get stealth when entering under 80m.

Overall, I'm excited and sadly I have no time to test it properly now. WoW calls, so I have to go, I will test more tomorrow :P

Ok just got done playing for a few, Seems most of the Mods work,Will have to play longer to see but so far so good .:salute:

I do sympathise with you, but i dont quite agree.

If your statment about graphics is true then why isnt everyone just playing SH3+mods? or AOD for that matter....
Graphics are more important than most people give them credit for, graphics, physics and audio all ADD to the gameplay which in turn adds to the fun of the entire experience.

As for the publishers ditching support, there are still things that only they can fix, not modders. And until they do, I dont believe SHV is going to very easily reach the modding levels of Sh3 and 4.

I just hope (fingers crossed) there have been some team members left to work on 1.3 since mid-March.

And why cant one of the largest Games Publishers feed correct infomation to one of its own online community managers?

On the plus side the control room IS usable now. Used to be a slideshow, now I can climb down and start to fear for my life in smooth comfort. :)

WTF? Now when i go to the official sh-5 forum it says my account had been suspended? What did i do?
