I geuss though that how well any of our ISP can do pertaining to SH5 would be just where in the world it has to connect to.
So the question is really at least from what I figure, is just what UBI server you must connect to. And does this do a hop thing from one to another, or is it direct from me to them such as the trip from my computer all the way to Romaina.
Without knowing, I dont think any test really shows the true story.

BTW: believe it or not SHV works just fine

I've had two disconnects of less than a minute plus the first weekend not being able to get on. Since then DRM has been a non-issue

Sorry Sledgehammer but I gotta laugh, :salute:

I understand what the purpose of this thread was when it started. But I don't see a link to SHV.

The thread was a discussion about people's quality of connection which is directly tied to how the DRM system that Silent Hunter V has, "OSP", works.

It's hilarious to see this thread to be related to a solo game  SH5 should be a mmo...

So sad really. All this talk of internet speeds and bandwith and ping times... for a single player subsim.

Syncing of savegames seem to take a few seconds.

This is with a 4MB (if I'm lucky) connection. Not exactly the most stable, but I haven't had any problems with disconnects for the past few months. Nor have I experienced any problems with Uplay, which hopefully will remain the case.

I do not synch my save games either, so load times are quite fast.
