I'm curently driving a XXIII out of Bergen and picking the juciest target in the convoys I encounter with my very limited eel capacity http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

Ohhhhh my friend Jimbuna, I could have so much fun with that!:smug:

... but I'll just be nice and close the hatch. :D

Stability. That's something I realy like about the IXB.
At just a hair under 2 knots, my guys can generaly do a good job at holding 12 meters.
The Type IIA in particular was a real PITA.

IID , each torpedo count and I like a lot this boat.

Type XXI. Almost like having a modern Seawolf sub in WW2. Load it up with homing torpedos and look out convoys!!!! :DL

I'll toss my favorites in here:

My two favorites thus far are the VIIB and the IXC. I like the VIIB because it packs a lot of punch in a small package. :yep:

The IXC is just a beast, pure and simple. Watching her cruise by submerged makes me wish I had gone to film school, and the '105 makes a dirty job even dirtier. :arrgh!:

My IXD2 has let me sail across all the oceans in a single patrol! 50k tons on a 387 day patrol. Alot of punch for alot of distance.

Type II is a hot little number. :yep:

Type IX all classes.

It and the Gato are the most beutifull subs ever built. If you are going to sea in a submarine go in style!

If I'm gonna die in a steel tube, it might as well look like it could properly kick something in the a$$. :salute:

I prefer the Type IXB due to it's high torpedo capacity,And105 deck gun
and the those long shots in the South Altantic. Just wish SHV had Type IX
boats.:salute:

My sub of choice lately has been the type VIIC, I normally patrol round the denmark straight's southern entrance near to the "Milch cow"(forget the name at the moment) giving me some flexability to head states side or back south.

Looking forward to giving a IXC a blast and hunting in the warmer waters of the carribean..tankers galore in that region:arrgh!:

Overall I would rate

Type VII as fave-She got my first 200K worth of shipping:arrgh!:
IX-Have sailed one a while ago,was good slow dive times though
Type II-Sailed briefly, hasn't got the range or weapons capacity I enjoy
XXI-Sailed once, used a mod to set up a hypothetical career...sank a grand total of 2 ships for 10k before being sunk myself. Disaster in shallow waters, will have another go in the deeper water at some point, before passing a final judgement

Fader_Berg 02-26-10 02:27 AM

Type II, without a doubt. A can of whoop ass.

As someone who feels more comfortable attempting to sink destroyers than sneaking away while having trash cans dropped on him, I like the IXB.
