And like someone already pointed out, there's tons of shirts and clothing lines with the peace symbol in it and it has been popular with youth for ages. Not because of it's message, but because they think it's a nice symbol.

This was never about the youngster. It was about how Mr. Obama is using her for political gain in Europe and beyond. No shame.

Show me where I attacked the girl. I don't even remember her name.

I was consitant in attacking Mr. Obama for using her as a pawn in his political game. Have a cigarette and get back to me.

So your comment was political only, and baseless materially.

And this is what makes the right wing so loony. The girl wears a shirt with a peace sign on it and all of a sudden it's like Obama's got puppet strings attached to her. The mental gynastics to get to that conclusion given the facts are astounding.

So, the left is not so loony? :03:

Edit: Seriously, she is kid. That is cool, but as it was said before: They are ambassadors for the US. Atleat some thought should be paid to what to wear and the implications that might arise. *shrug*

Both extremes are ****ing insane

But I agree with mookie here, the mental gymnastics required to get to this conclusion are monumental.

They are if you think logically, but properly colored glasses can make it a whole lot easier.

11 yo are always, always under the control of their parents. As ambassadors for the US the Obama's have not only the right but the duty to portray the US in a positive way. That Mr. Obama has been on a slam the US tour since 20 Jan 09, only reenforces the idea of my point about using one's progeny for political gain.

Europeans may not see it, but a vast number of Americans do see it.

If you don't physically, you do legally. And any civil liability falls upn the parents.

It is Mr. Obama at fault for bringing his children into the mix..

antikristuseke 07-12-09 06:49 PM

so Obamas kid wearing a thisrt with a peace sign on it is somehow obama using his ki to garner political power?

Are you ****ing serious?

They are his family, whether they want it or not, and aren't there in any official function. Therefore it's stretching the point awfully far to call his daugher an "ambassador".
This is my first, and last, post in this thread. The whole thing has been blown up beyond any proportion (3 pages of vitriolic controversy over a T-Shirt with a peace sign on it. Food for thought).
