That's all? Bugger, and all this time I've been copy/pasting installations... :lol:

Jimbuna 12-24-08 04:14 PM

Yeah....that way you can have as many installations as your computer can handle.

A Tip: Use Multi SH3 to create separate save folders in C\MyDocs for each installation. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...s/thumbsup.gif

JimBuna: Hmmm. What do we name savefolders. Seems like each install would seek it's own savefolder? i.e vanilla will look in C\MyDocs for that one and 3.0 will look in the C\MyDocs for it's save folder and not cross thread?

Multi SH3 allows you to name each save folder with three figures.

EG:

Vanilla = SH3

GWX2.1 = GW2

GWX3.0 = GW3

That way the saves from each installation are kept apart and save conflicts which inevitibly cause a CTD.

Got it. Thanks much.

Ok. Went to the download mirror sites and see all the .bin folder / files.

Various number 1 thru 7 I believe and they are large. Do download all or just the latest?

Also where do I place them.

The manual is a great piece of work I must say!! I must have missed directions on how and what to download and install on XP. THANKS!

Kaleun Cook 12-28-08 08:57 AM

Download all of them plus the exe-file to any folder you wish. When done, run the exe-file. There you go.

PappyCain 12-28-08 10:16 AM

Got it - many thanks.

Hmmm. Came across a file called TORRENT. Anyone can tell what is a TORRENT and what do I do with it now that I have it? :hmm:

Weiss Pinguin 12-28-08 08:59 PM

Just another way to download a file. IIRC the more people use a torrent the faster it goes, no?

Or maybe not. :hmm:

Erich dem Roten 12-28-08 10:05 PM

Torrents are just a very efficient way to pass a file along to multiple users, as each person is connected to many others, receiving and sending different parts of the file to each rather than force everyone to download the files in a standard Beginning-to-End format.

Edit: And yes, typically the more people on a torrent the faster it goes.

PappyCain 12-29-08 10:52 AM

Thanks - so I downloaded this:

GWX3.0_torrent.torrent
GWX3.0_torrent.torrent

But now what do I do to view or insert where? Feeling awfully dumb today!:-?

This is just the file that tells a program what the complete file you need consists of. So what you need is such a program, for example BitTorrent, able to connect to other ppl sharing the file you want to download. Personally I use µTorrent. You can find it here. For more info, just pm me.
