My correction created some kind of issue with the Balao class. I can start careers fine, but when I actually try to go on patrol, the game CTDs.
So far only the Balao is showing this behavior, and it is the same either for new careers or for previously existing savegames....I'll try to correct whatever is wrong and maybe will have new files tomorrow. P.S.: I found an interesting bug. When I enable the Truant mod the Balao class starts displaying only 5 forward tubes. Maybe this is the source of the Balao CTDs and not my modifications to the Triton files. Does the Triton model mess with the torp tubes of other subs? |
nope, but the inside is the balao's, so messing around maybe messed it up ? I'll take a look at your files later today and see if i can fix it.

I thought you didn't want the T out there in 43 and 44 since your original files didn't have it there.
I'll get to work. Please check the Balao as right now I'm having to disable the Truant every time I want to play my current career with the Balao. |

Just an idea, could it be something you added from the Balao that the ID didn't get changed? I know you know about that but maybe missed one?

Did some more testing, and it's definitely something in the original files.
For some reason the Balao is playable now, but both the Balao and the Gato start their patrols with the 5th forward torp tube empty, then if you reload and try refitting, the final 3 forward reserves do NOT get filled up. It's probably something with the tubes that is messed up, and that is beyond my skill for the moment. I'll at least finish the modifications required for the T to show up in 43 and 44, but the issue with the Gatos and Balaos is beyond me. |
The Balao is back to CTDing, but I've managed to add the T-Class to the later years in all bases.

I'd personally like to play from the aleutians... then again if you install TMO I have a patch ready for that one giving you the T all the time everywhere, and they have way more missions that in the original game. k |

the only possible addition you could make to that sub would be a rotating 4 tube deck mounted torpedo launcher for 360 degree targetting.
no more would you not have a perfect shooting angle. |
