I didn't see it on the list but a nice cushy desk job at puzzle palace would be great. I'd secure a job only I could do make myself indespensable, retire come back and fill the slot as a civilian contractor and make 10 times as much money. Yep thats my dream billet.

I'd get myself kicked out & join the Coast Guard. The only maritime service with actual sailors with real sailoring skills.

Is that why these salty sea dogs were part of the Department of Transportation until just recently?

You could be right there.
I mean, most warships would rather they didnt have to display sailing expertise, that's bad for sonar performance.
Whereas the CG have to.

Once a Gunner's Mate, always a Gunner's Mate. Battleships, cruisers, destroyers and frigates, oh YEAH!!!!

Put me on a fast, grey ship so I can sail in harm's way!

I would love to be able to be a Gunner's Mate on a ship with the new Electromagnetic Rail Gun, but at 43, I might as well pray to "Saint Hap'n'" (Patron saint of things that ain't happening...)

Besides, two section duty sucks, and I don't handle sleep deprevation as well as I used to. As they say, the mind is willing...

I served one year on a Missileboat. Great action I would definitly have chosen that if I had enlisted. Just zig-zagging inshore between reefs and rocks in 30 knots in a 100 feet boat kind of kicks ass  But Id try to stear away from your PT August, we had a couple of those(some kond of newer ELCO boats) in the RNoN 10 years ago. From what I heard it was freezing cold to stand on the bridge.
