That is a splendid idea! I think SH should be modded to be an arcade game like space invaders for the people who only want eye candy. You drive your u-boat, shoot torpedos, and dodge depth charges. :lol:

Maybe for some of the ubers who play 100% realism and can plot firing solutions in there sleep it is but not for most.
It's actually not that difficult, all you have to do is get so close that you can't miss. :D Then you can go from there and start shooting from further distances.

I am in PERFECT agreement that everyone is entitled to their own style of play, from casual to arcade to über realism. We all started at some casual and not fully educated level of play.

BUT

When some arcade 10% realism player downloads a realism/difficulty/historical accuracy mod like GWX that qent through vast research and development... and then Pisses and moans about the realism and difficulty... Thats where I draw a line in the sand.

if this player is looking for enhanced damage FX or better graphics or better sound without modifying the difficulty or realism... This community has many talented modders who have developed such things. They should have researched the fact that aside from many graphic and sound improvements GWX makes the game harder and more true to history as well before downloading it and complaining that its more difficult

Yep. We could have made it even harder to survive.
Could have added "Somethings" that are not in SH3 but were used
in the Real War.
Adjusted this, tweaked that, equiped things to be more deadly .
As infact they were.
But we didn't.
Yet.
:o

And Jimbuna.
We haven't finished the "Vanilla GWX for SH3" version yet!!!
Takes a long time to remove all the stuff back to that level!!
What?
2 years minimum?
:rotfl:

Making it harder ?
No problem.... I'm one of those real live guys...

#######################
HARDER != MORE REALISTIC
#######################

Lets' think about it a second....

a) you need proof for that simulated behaviour
b) you need to know the statistics

-> you need numbers
-> send opinions to hell....

Madox58 12-21-07 06:44 PM

How about:
"Privateer's GWX 2.0 with Regular Steriods Injections" mod?
:rotfl:

The name "HUNTER" , to me atlease means---

Hunting those things that are not EASY to get. I broke in hunting small game , then deer, and once in Colorado setteled down to Elk hunting.

I have six bulls over 5x5, but now days pickout the lone dry cow which taste better. Those are harder to pick out ( could be my old eyes too). Archery was my first love, then Blackpowder, and now as age becomes a factor my choice is a Rifle( 300 win. mag].

As an USAF survival/rescue man some times hunting for food to stay alive was the task, other times hunting for a downed pilot required similar attention to detail and doggedness. In both cases quiting or worst even, failure was not a option.

This game puts me back in the "sneek", "quiet","one shot" mentality that was ,and in some small way, is much of who I am.

I still like the Flight Sims LOCKON & OFF mod to CFS.

But this game has most of my attention. Word has it the son/grandson team in Colorado will be sending SH4 this year much like they did SH3 last year.

Yea now your son plays that game. Ladies LOVE a man in uniform! ;) (Well its a nomex jumpsuit but its close enough :roll: )

Now on the topic of the origonal post I totaly agrie. If you just want to "run n' gun" just stick to stock SHIII. People that just complain its too hard and dont want realism shouldnt of downloaded it in the firstplace. So shut up and play stock!

Inspite of where my siggy goes I agree by and large
however I will qualify that with the statement that there
is room to see what potential a historically accurate
UKruizer might have had in campaign.

What if doesnt necessarily have to be unrealistic.

I haven't got GWX 2.0 yet and it's various files are in my download manager, being downloaded for an hour or two each night. But I do hear stuff like the occasional 90%+ torpedo failures.

That is one hell of organized sabotage and I wonder why it never made into the history book the way it sounds. The tommies must have several dozen hookers and cleaners/loaders, heck, even a sizeable number of kriegsmarine navy guards (and naturally a sizeable number of senior officers) on every harbor, even German, who spend whole nights saboteuring torps in the storage and the few ones that are left unscathed are the ones they couldn't sabotage due to lack of time (hell of an arduous job doing 90% of all the torps!).

That is one hell of amazing pre-emptive espionage capability, seeing the spies infiltrated the kriegsmarine long before 1939. :p Sorry but that's how I'm imagining it. :huh:

Mush Martin 12-23-07 10:13 AM

my crew is loyal and thorough I never experience sabotage
2.0 is a tremendous piece of work. and playable as you like
it imo its flaws are few and its virtues abundant and worth
all that time waiting on the d/l to complete I promise.:up:

Enable the SH3 Commander 'Sabotage and Malfunction' capability, and see just what did used to go wrong in RL http://imgcash6.imageshack.us/img231...shockedvi8.gif
