Not sure if she understands my intense adversion to anything that sounds like an active sonar ping though ;)
What we need is a subsim alarm clock that makes the sound of an active sonar ping !!!
Or even better... one that yells "ALAAAAAAAAAAAAARM !!!!" when it goes off !!!:rotfl:

I did consider the ALAAAARM!! idea when I got a recordable memo clock, not quite sure if my nervous system could take it in the fragile state it's in first thing of a morning  I'd probably run downstairs and try to dive the house or something!

When a game gives you flashbacks and post traumatic stress syndrome like that, you KNOW it's a DAMN GOOD GAME !!!

Off topic a bit here :hmm:

Can someone extract if possible or record some of the sounds from SH3? such as the alarm and active sonar pinging :ping: ?

Just cant wait for something like then to use as a signal in my cellphone :D
the alarmclock shouts ALAARM in the morning :rotfl:

My wife isn't bothered by the sounds thanks to my headphones, but if she watches me on heavy seas on deck for any length of time she gets to feeling like she is going to hurl. :o

Tool.

Look in your Silent Hunter III folder
Go into DATA
Go into SOUNDS
Scroll down till you see the wav files Sonar, Sonar_coat, and Sonar_imp. They are all wav files.

Have the ALAAAARM sound bite as the message tone on my mobile
Gets some odd looks at times but Meh
Tis worse when it goes off and you cant get to it
That 56 seconds seems to go on forever

:rotfl:
