Lovely job, are you "teaming up" with the GWX dev team to release it at the same time as 1.04?

Jimbuna 10-09-07 03:34 PM

It has already been announced that the next release of GWX is closed to any additional ships :arrgh!:

I'm doing my best for an Xmas release but it's really a toss-up since I am going to be busy (with non SH3 stuff) around November-December. This is not considered part of GWX. I have been speaking to BBW about how best to set the spawning probabilities so that you will see a good mix of ships.

Thank you. That's a very attractive design. I don't know if it can go in the original release which is very nearly closed but maybe in the expansion pack.

Well. I would wait it ship. And search more data about 4 other NKVD ships. Now I know ship names it ships and all be foreign made. 3 ex-british ships and 1 ex-dutch ship.

If I find info can I send it you?

Yes - go ahead and send whatever you find.

As usual

So as you are doing sneak peaks does that mean a release date in mind ?

:rotfl:

I would give a release date but I can't really guarantee one. Let's just say I'm going to do my best for a release by this holiday season but it is far from guaranteed. I AM pretty sure it'll be ready before Christmas of 2009 (just kidding; it should be much sooner than that). :-? In the meantime I may release some individual ships, like the Empire Freighter.

Last night I modeled another large tanker. On this particular model I used a new technique for adding the hull text. This will eliminate the annoying flicker effect that you see on some ships when objects are placed too close together.

The design dates from circa 1935-1941, so it would have been a very modern vessel for its time. I've been wondering if people prefer old-fashioned merchant ships from around 1900-WWI or if you guys find the more modern types interesting? Personally I enjoy creating both kinds...

Those look great! Sign me up when they're ready. Anything I can do to help?:|\\

Thanks but for now this project basically has a staff of one. ;) However, would you or anyone else happen to know about cargo ship paint schemes for countries like Panama, Denmark, and Belgium? (Obscure request, I know). It's easy to find out what American and British ships looked like - not so for the smaller countries.

Also, Before release I will need some testers, mainly to make sure that the ships damage effects are OK.

iambecomelife, those textures look amazing! I realised after looking at them that my mouth was literally hanging open :o ...fantastic work!
