Since this is a 9/11 thread I figured this worth mentioning. I sincerely believe that when the US gets hit, this is where it is going to be.

There has been a lot of buzz to homeland security of people reporting to authorities throughout the USA that ''suspicious" looking muslim males have been seen photographing US school buildings.

Counterterrorism officials have issued a bulletin that suspected members of islamic extremist groups have been applying and getting jobs as school bus drivers. The bulletin, sent to local police officials, cited recent suspicious activity by foreigners who either drive school buses or are licensed to drive them, including some with ties to extremist groups.

For instance, last May two Saudi Arabian men boarded a school bus in Tampa. They shouted in Arabic for 30 minutes before being finally removed from officials. No word on what they were talking about or why they took the bus hostage.

Last August, three men described as being Middle Eastern went onto a bus sales company in New York. They tried to buy a bunch of buses. After they were asked to leave, they staked the company out from a parked car for several minutes.

And in June, a Canadian was arrested on terrorism charges. Guess what his day job was? Yes, school bus driver.

So the question is, why are they so interested in this?

If what your citing is true and credible, then i woudlnt be surpised. Honestly even without "signs" i wouldnt be surpised anyway. From all i was ever taught, terrorists:

-Are very patient meticulous planners, and will take their time about it. Often taking years to put their plan into action.

- prefer to strike soft targets, or targets that their odds of success are substantially high. (IE path of least resistance)

- typically want to make a statement and will search out areas where their "statment" will be most heard.


What better way then to simultaniously attack schools? Seriously, many people have their child as their central focus in life. As odd as this sounds, Kid's are almost a cult fetish object. (how many times have you heard someone express concern of kids, even if they werent their own?) If the terrorist really want to make themselves heard, a well ocastrated and simultanious attack on many schools at once would create an uproar that would be probably louder then 9/11 and Pearl harbor combined.

I have to wonder if this plan (if such a plan were to ever exist), would backfire on them, and what other ramifications might be, both social and political. I hope such a thing never happends, but, i don't doubt that they'd have plan such a thing at all, infact, Id be more surpised if they didn't.
