Hi, I find no problem so far with 8k version but the 16k version still has problems, the following is from my other post:
Quote:

After quite a few more tests I have found that the added command-line in scene.dat (Horizon), added by Der Teddy Bar may well work in SHIV but not in SHIII.
What happens is if this number (default for 8k = 1000) is increased is that the size of the grid seems to get smaller, in the game with NumLock on using numbers pad press the 7 key to view from a higher altitude and look around, you will notice the square grid with blured edges on the horizon, now if you lower the number the sky goes black!:damn:
Placing setting back to 1000 for 8k then going to the old method of changing earthsize and in particular the three SkyObject Radius items - sun, moon & stars to a higher value you end up with these objects disappearing!:damn:
The closest I can get to a 16k version without upsetting things can be downloaded for anyone to test here:

If anyone can offer help, those using the 16k version would certainly appreciate it!:yep:
Thanks for your patience.:)
As you can see, still a way to go with the 16k version, trying to test in all environments is quite time consuming, so if anyone finds something amiss please post your findings.:yep:
Thanks.

@ Adriatico, yes it becomes a trade off or a matter of preference I feel, trying to get that happy medium is quite hard, but I have posted the settings for anyone to play with if they want & if anyone gets a breakthrough with anything regarding the scene.dat file, please post!:D
Thanks.

Yes Reece,
...it is definitely a time&nerv consuming game of "give it a go" - again and again...
Till we reach some real new breaktrough, this is the max. we could combine...

( but I'm very happy with this tuned "natural" look...
I could patrol with these (LCD) settings for another 12-24 months...)

I hope that inverse approach (SH3 in SH4 ) announced by the new team/web-site would come up with some "ground shaker" for further testing in a months to come...

P.S.
Sailors, please poste to my p.m. the address - you want me to e-mail these settings...

Please, keep in mind that both general settings and W.S.1 settings determine the calm sea look.
Other sea states would look fine anyway...

I'll be off - for a hollidays ( two weeks ) , so folks, go on with further testing in a divine peace, without my grumble...
