I've always been a VII fan myself, save up and then dish out the renown on a monster XXI. This is mainly because of the dive time on the IX subs, you could make yourself a brew and only just be half way there lol...better pray those mosquito pilots are busy back at the mess having their mid afternoon tea and buiscits otherwise your off to meet ol' Davey Jones lol!:arrgh!:

I thought we're already done with the VII vs IX. I already pick the IX, unless you guys want to use this thread to battle the VIIers and the IXers see who is best.

I vote for the Tambor.
Blasphemy! Blasphemy! |
Actually the comparison should be simple:
start two carreers, one with VII and the otherone, well with VII too, as soon as you can get the IX or XI or XX or whatever, try to live to 1945. I have the feeling, since I just used the latter one for a patrol in 1943, I will have my VII back.. its comming close to seconds then, and the VII is just a tad faster in manouvres, and yes, THEN you need those seconds. But arent those boats not build for a purpose? |
Well folks for what it's worth The Military Channel (U.S.) just did a show called Top Ten Subs.
I missed numbers 10 and 9, but the only German sub in the Top 8 was rated the best sub in history: The Type VII Ratings are by impact/performance during it's time, of course. They're not saying it's better than today's subs. |
