Ok! I'll answer the question then!

No income taxes are not illegal nor unconstitutional because of the 16th amendment. Yes, it would become illegal and unconstitutional if you removed this amendment.

Some arguments against the amendment, the ratification, its validity, are good and may lead to its eventual downfall. But its important to separate the crap, the trash and the sensationalist garbage from them if we are to present a solid and sincere case against it. Convincing, inciting or persuading people not to pay taxes is irresponsible. Useless rebellions that would only lead to arrests and to losses that could be as great or greater than the taxes themselves. Instead, make sure the cultural foundation is solid, the tradition background is strong, then get enough congressmen willing to take the amendment down in the House & Senate. The history of the ratification of the 16th amendment itself shows what happens when the arguments used are merely opportunistic and limited to the sphere of the political electoral battle, it doesn't work.

Perhaps it is their background education (i am not sure), but it seems that to accept ideas, commands, regulations, etc, without to filter them through a critic mind is the norm. :hmm::hmm::hmm:

Why do you think we should rehash the same flawed arguments over and over again every time somebody like you comes to our country?

After all:
You don't like our tax structure.
You don't like our police.
You don't like our religions.

So why did you even come here von Capo?

For the same reason that everyone comes here and then some....to utilize the freedoms that are given and complain about the 'harsh' conditions he lives in.

here is how you can get into the US.

1. Travel to Mexico.
2. Darken your skin with that tanning lotion (skin dying lotion), your a Brit after all.
3. Walk across the border.

Its done every day by Mexican nationals.

Actually, you could get an easy scholarship being English:

Official: What is your purpose in the United States? Business or Pleasure?
Me: I'm English.
Official: Oh, I see, here, take my wallet. And a first class room.
Me: Thanks!
Official: No problem!

:p

I think income taxes should only be in place if the payer knows EXACTLY what the money is spent on.

We may gripe and scream about the taxes here but at least we still can.

I sure as hell don't see anyone really wanting to leave the US but they sure are trying to get here...

I think its a war actually...

Think about it ... this country thrives one demographics. The more of one type then we swing that way the more of another type we go there...

Americans are producing about 1.5 children down from 2.5 ... 25 years ago..Way down from 8.6 ...50 years ago. Muslims and Mexicans on the other hand are pumping out 6.3 children a year (and as a side note most of their families stay together and raise their children with their beliefs)... at that rate America will not be the America in 3 generations....

This is why I do not understand why islomoterrorist want to "kill the infidels" at this time.
HOLY ALI BABA BATMAN all they gotta do is wait a bit longer...

baggygreen 01-03-07 07:39 PM

very true u533, i dunno about the stats but what you say is absolutely right - patience is a virtue, my fundamentalist friends. Do nothing for 3 generations and then forget totally about your nutjob ideas of slaughtering everything that isnt of islam in that time. i like that idea - lord knows it would make my job easier!

oh and by the way, im happy to keep on paying my income taxes - im not as cynical as all the leftwing media types.

GSpector 01-04-07 12:18 AM

Hello baggygreen,

I'm with you though I'm not sure I'd say I was happy to be paying all these taxes but I am glad that the services are in place should I need them and for the most parts, the roads here a well kept. I don't have to worry about sand dunes, dirt road or masive pot holes.
