There is an optional 'Lite Harbor Traffic' mod that comes with GWX which can be enabled with JSGME that also comes with GWX.

so combined with the 8km range mod it should be ok. what about the ocean floor textures? is there anything to set these back to normal or are we still using the advanced ones?

pete

Ocean floor textures have been reduced from 4096 to 512 as far as i can se so that wouldnt have any impact now to lower framrate.

I was very impressed with my first mission in GWX, in 42' ( South Atlantic ), the traffic, other subs. The warship behavior was unrelenting, so much that they got me, so I didn't survive.

My next was in 44', Penang, OAfrika, or something like that, when I got there I noticed that on my Patrol Orders this was not recognized, also I did not encounter many ships, not like in the Atlantic. But...., this was my first patrol not in the Atlantic Ocean.

Overall very impressed with GWX.

Orange circle

Hi to all and great job on this one guys, really impressed. Just one thing, I am not as exper. as all of you are yet, just wondering if there is a way to get the orange circle back when I am submerged?

Regards

Chuck

Umark.tga, if you are running the stock version also, it is in the data\misc folder, move this to the the same folder in GWX. I did a search, but anything I found as far as a file on this was deleted

Having these issues in GWX but not in my other SHIII install.

1. Mouse wheel won't zoom in or out on Nav map or TDC.

2. Can't drag the map to move it around plotting a course. It jumps back to centerview as soon as I click and hold.

3. Keyboard's arrow keys won't move views up, down or sideways.

Was keyboard and mouse config changed in anyway by GWX? I've done no changes.

What additional mods are you using... and did you delete your SH3 folder in "My Documents" prior to running GWX?

If you read the manual ;) or the F1 key in-game help sections we've added, you will find that anything outside of the Kriegsmarine Grid system is not recognized in some ways by the SH3 engine. You will get renown for sinking ships and for returning to base... you will not get renown for reaching a patrol zone (as we have mapped out on your F5 screen.)

We would have loved to fix this issue, but the KM grid system is hard-coded. We decided to not let this matter limit us or players.

There is plenty of coastal traffic and convoys too
But its not the Atlantic so you will have to hunt

2. Shifting between views with F4 - B - U give "random" views, looking skyhigh/diff. direction. It's almost like the keyboard gets hijacked?
3. And finally the night... Too dark for my pleasure, in TGW1.1 I used 16km light and it was perfect. Can it be installed in GWX?

Otherwise running fine here. Great stuff so far (and what a stunning manual!)

1. This is a problem standard to mostr variants of the 16 Km mod. It is lessened when you play at 1024x768 resolution. I recommend 1024x768 resolution for all players.

2. The 16 km visibility mod that comes with GWX IS the "Light" version of the same. We did away with the 16 km atmosphere "dark" version.

3. The darkness of the night in SH3 is PLAYER MONITOR DEPENDANT. You can try adjusting your settings to allieviate the problem... however with some monitors... no ammount of adjusting will fix the problem.

4. Sometimes... playing SH3 means that ALL of us (myself included) are forced to tolerate a quirk or two. We can fix a lot of things... we'll never be able to fix everything.

Sorry my answers weren't more favorable for you. :-?

One of my favourite bugs is back: when i was going to get ready to start a patrol leaving Kiel, I suddenly was in the middle of nowere, at the exact postition where the red line is meeting the blue one.

You'll probably need to provide us with more info, but initially while still in the port area, your frame rates will always be much lower.

Ok, i start campaign but when i am in comand room everything is soooo sloooow, not to mention going out of the sub? SH III was perfect, and I have recomanded system(2 GB of RAM and 2 Ghz processor)?

I guess this is similar to what someone else mentioned before in this thread.
I got a clean install of SHIII, patched to 1.4, updated SH3commander 7 with the new .CFG files. But when i try to set up a patrol in Asia, this occurs:
http://img309.imageshack.us/img309/5391/errorxxpt0.jpg
I doesnt happen when i started SHIII from the desktop icon, only when i use the commander. After i got this, i cant start SHIII (from icon or commander) with the Asia bases as an option (Penang/Jakarta).
What have i done wrong, mateys...?

GT182 12-18-06 11:59 AM

I didn't delete the SHIII folder in My Docs, just renamed it to match my other install of SHIII. But I now see no new SHIII folder has been created. I had to redo my 2nd SHIII and GWX install, but before that I did have 2 separate SHIII folders. One for GWX and one for my SHIII-Vanilla.

The only mods I've installed in GWX are:
No Medals on Crew
Late War Snorkel and Antennas
English Nav map
Seafloor SF v2

Did you fail to delete or rename your "SH3" folder in "My Documents?"

If you are trying to run an old career these kind of strange things happen. I have tested each year of availability for the Kiel player U-boat base. The problem you describe is not related to GWX.

have you installed any other mods?
