Hey guys,

I use the current version of OH II, but I have an issue: When I select a mission in port, it shows me an objective (patrol grid AN..) on the map, but when I am on the boat, I cannot see it.
Probably it's just me forgetting "how to Silent Hunter V", but how can I see my actual objective?

When on nav map, up left corner you should see your current mission, and clicking on it should open every thing needed on map…

When clicking on the little golden button, my objective grid square is centered (but not marked in any way), so I can find it now.
As soon as I finished patrolling it, I was radiod to "reposition" - without any position in the message. Furthermore, the yellow marker was gone - I am unable to find my new grid square.
When clicking on the mission itself, it just shows the shaded area of operations and some convoy lines of interest.

Are you using The Wolves of Steel mod ?
If not, you should… i highly suggest it.

Thank you both!
I understand the German grid system, the only issue is being told to which grid to move to next.
I do not run TWoS, my notebook is not quite up to the task.
But this should not be an issue, Steam sales are around the corner and I'll pick up SH3 now - which should keep me busy for hours on end.

I finally found the Stormy's thread and have re-read it. It states that...


Install Stormy`s DBSM 1.3 using JSGME after the above mods are installed, but before TDW NewUI`s and Open Horizons !
(New UI`s 6.9.0 wont overwrite important SDBSM features anymore but exchange some important radio voices i created for NewUI´s. These are working with NewUI`s radio messages system, SDBSM, Open Horizon`s campaign and its radio messages).

I will try this and re-post here if I have problems.

Is Open Horizons II v.2.5 compatible with 'Stormy's DBSM v.1.3' + 'Stormy's DBSM v.1.3 Additional Crew Sounds beta6' ?

If compatible, should Stormy's DBSM be installed after or before OH2?
If not compatible, can the Stormy mod be adapted in any way?

Notes:
I have installed only the sound files of Stormy's mod, taking away the new crew, the new crew animations and the new keyboard commands, having only the sounds and speeches. It works, but I'd like to get the complete mod running if possible.

Stormy's new keyboard commands apply now, the F1 key shows the correct changes, sound and crew sound works ok, the crew is changed as it should, BUT ...

..there is a single crewman near the sonar room which is 'stucked', it doesn't move, if I click on him the game will CTD.
Unfortunately I cannot provide screenshot because the key doesn't work (no image in my game folder).


What is happening here?

I got a few Question:
1. Are Convoi Reports in Captains Log accurate or those from Radio? Or both?

2. How far from Coast are they traveling?

3. So they Stop on Route at enemy Harbours? Or is for ex. Convoi FN 23, Just going from Southamptom-Thnye?

4. How fast are they going? Ist there some File i can Look into to get some answers?

Radio reports are scripted you can turn these off from the button at the bottom so you only receive radio reports directly aimed at you from the BDU.


Reports showing in the Captains Log or you see from the Message Box are genuine movements and can be followed up.

Those Messages where adressed to U-35. But i can intercept them too?

Whatabout the other Questions? Someone Else knows? Struggeling finding them

1. Accurate information.
2. Not known.
3. Scripted only.
4. Navigator will give information in the message box as to distance, speed, course, etc.

For OH2 there is a *Light* version that only contains the campaign files without the new ships and other mods for low spec computers.
However this package is from 2011 and doesn't reflect additions like the 'Monsum Gruppe' etc., by looking in the campaign chapters I see no difference from the stock game.


Is there such a light package for the latest OH2 v. 2.5 ?
