There are only two possible ways:
- To track down and fix broken script from IRAI 0.0.41 responsible for these CTDs (which is now pretty much impossible since TDW is done with SH5) or...

- To heavily edit campaign files in order to avoid all situations where your playable sub, friendly AI sub, friendly destroyer and enemy ship/airplane can be rendered in the same area and engaged in combat.

Hi thadgar
Do you still want the v2.4 patch2 as I will upload it for you?
Peter

Thanks for the Help!

Thanks vdr1981,
Those both seem beyond my ability, but thanks for the advice.

Thanks Peter,
Since I am using the Light v3 - and have downloaded the v2.5 - I don't think I'll need the v2.4 patch (the Update Log says it's already in v2.5).

Your responses are very much appreciated,
Thadgar

Another Question (of course)

In order to have more time with the C41, I installed OH2 v2.5 last night. It ran correctly.

However, when I started my new career in the campaign “Turning Point” I expected to be in the Brest Sub Pens as usual, but instead it started me with a Tutorial Mission out of Bremen.

After the tutorial, there were no available Missions to select.
What did I do wrong?

Thanks,
thadgar

Hi thadgar
You are not doing anything wrong.
It depends what time of year you are in as to where your base will be.
Brest is the last campaign base for The Black Pit which finishes 15/02/43.
It is quite likely your new campaign will start there before moving to La Pallice for Turning Point.
The first mission is TW Spring 1943 01/03/43 to 31/05/43
No mention of any tutorial mission in OHII regarding Bremen.

Thanks Peter

Thank You Peter,

I will check the dates and try again.

setting up mod

I don't know what I did exactly, but I screwed up getting the proper mod order and files to run the mod.
Last night I had it, but not having read the notes close enough about starting new campaign , when the starting point was Kiel, I thought I had done something wrong!! So, I started messing around & now files screwed up, because when I tried re-unzipping and re-loading into JSGME, one of the files overwrote something in the other AND I can't undo that for some reason.
I just deleted first zip files and re-downloaded OH & patch files again, but things are still screwed up. So that didn't fix. Are there files somewhere else that I need to delete associated with mod that's interferring with operation of mod. I don't get the option to skip tutorial now.

Any ideas how to fix this?? Also, when you unzip the main OH files, there are 3 other folders(MQK gradiant, locations maps & shape textures??) that can be sent to mod folder in SH5. Should they be sent there??
Also, what is proper order of loading main OH file and patch file, which one first??

THEBERBSTER 09-23-17 02:12 PM

Hi MN
I think you would be better starting again from scratch rather than wasting time trying to sort your problem out.
For mod order check out sobers mega mod.
OPEN HORIZONS II v2.5
MQK Gradient_IO
MQK LocationMaps_IO
MQK ShapeTextures_NO

again

I reloaded the mod like you listed above, but game still takes me to tutorial, even though under maim screen says "OH 2.5" Where does patch file go??
right now I have the 4 files in sequence you said. But when I load patch file it says some file maybe over written, and when I load patch via JSGME the OH file, now on right side is grayed out. Is this normal??

Do I load patch file first??

Hi MN

but game still takes me to tutorial
Yes it will because you have not created a "career history file"

Start the tutorial and then exit the game.
Follow the path showing in the tutorial.
Open the career history cfg file and change:
HasCompletedTutorial= false > change to true.
Save and exit.

Not sure what you mean.
What is your description of this "patch file"?

Mods will overwrite other mods and these will be greyed out.

thanks

I re-read instructions, and saw your last help answer. I saw that hint in mod area and changed to "true" I am now in OH campaign!!!:Kaleun_Applaud:

I started in Memel(I hope spelling close) east of Dansig and just received confirmation that I completed Baltic mission.

Do I go back to Menel or go to Kiel now ??

Please forgive my ignorance because I don't play same game(s) week after week. I only come here when i want to play one of the SHs.

On the OH main mod page there is a "Grid request Fix patch" Do I need this??
this what was overwriting something and not making it work right; but then again maybe it was changing tutorial >true all along.

Thanks very much for your help,

MN

Make you way to Kiel, never go back to Memel.
Do a manual save 200km from Kiel and exit to the desktop.
Reload your game and continue to Kiel.
Do not dock before 00.00 4th September GMT/stopwatch time otherwise you will not be able to request the next mission.
In other words you must be at sea before you can request the next mission showing on the map.
Always check the stopwatch time not Nautical time.

Only if you want to receive orders to patrol certain grid areas.
Each mission then contains 3 separate grid patrol areas each one completed earns you 1 crew bonus point.
You will still receive a special single mission objective from time to time.

No connection between the too.

Mods can overwrite other mods using the same files, this is not a problem as long as the mods do not need the same file/s to work correctly or your game will ctd at some point.
In relation to the mods you are showing this is not a problem.
