:har::har: OK, If you say so. I reckon the same could said of the relentless 7 years of accusations could drive people to do stupid things too. It’s almost like some people are doing everything in their power to spark violence. Then those same people will step in to fix the problem with more ideas of increasing control.

You always fail to take into account how the legal system works, and the time that can be spent bringing cases to trial. You only highlight your ignorance of the judicial system by doing so, and I don't mean that in a name calling manner.

No, I don't want any violence to happen and I'm not one of the people calling for civil war because their ideals are no longer a popular majority, and don't win elections! I hate how Trumpism has been twisted into a Fascist movement that disregards the ideals and hopes this country was founded on.

Trumps own words about those who spill confidential documents are now turned back on him and he squeals like a stuck pig calling for civil unrest.

Senate Republicans do not back him anymore and wish him and MAGA gone.

No, I'm an observer of the process and follow the litigation so I know where things stand, but fair point.

Sorry I was editing my post and just ended up deleting the entire thing while you were posting a response. Nothing against you, I did it just to aggrevate Dowly :D

Basically I was trying to get a point across that though I’m no expert I know a bit about how fast the judicial system can work. Having caught a few drug smugglers back in the day it only took a few months before I was called to testify in federal court. And I sure as hell didn’t spend seven years throwing crap on the wall to see what sticks to build a case or make up stories and accuse them of things they didn’t do.

Wait... shouldn't there be a Politics thread for 2023?

To you he makes sense. To me he sounds like a basement dwelling nut. Don't know what you are trying to imply with the rest of it. I haven't heard of any police malpractice verdict. Maybe you can enlighten me as to why it would be germane to the discussion?

US Marshall have arrested him.

Some thoughts about your juridical system.

I know you have something called Bail which mean a person can go free until the trial start I also know that the price of this bail depends on what the accused have done.

I also know that there are example where the accused is kept under arrest

Will the same happen here ?
The Judge set a bail for xx million Dollars
Or will the Judge keep him in arrest until the trial is over ?

Edit
He has been released again.
End edit

The Neue Zürcher Zeitung comments soberly:

The indictment against Trump is damning. But the Republicans have learned nothing from the storm on the Capitol. They are joining in the martial rhetoric of their tribune of the people. In doing so, they are once again accepting political violence.

Ha how ironic, Germans lecturing on political violence

Why do you think this is going to stop with arrest and imprisonment? It just affirms suspicions, maybe its just the beginning of the beginning.

FLASHBACK: Biden Insists He’s ‘Making Sure Trump Does Not Become President Again’

During a press conference held in November 0f 2022, Joe Biden made some concerning remarks about his predecessor, former President Donald Trump, potentially returning to power. Looking back many have interpreted his words as an admission of fear that he cannot beat Trump in a fair election.

The issue arose when Biden was asked to address so-called international concerns about Trump’s possible return to the political scene. His response? A laugh, followed by a pledge to use the “legitimate efforts of our Constitution” to ensure Trump doesn’t become president again if he decides to run.

TRANSCRIPT:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-...-conference-8/

Q – So the entire genesis of that G7 conversation was tied to your predecessor, who is about to launch another campaign. So how do you reassure them, if that is the reason for their questioning, that the former President will not return or that his political movement, which is still very strong, will not —

BIDEN:: Oh, yeah? (Laughs.)

Q — once again take power in the United States?

BIDEN: Well, we just have to demonstrate that he will not take power by — if we — if he does run. I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next President again.

Nancy Mace was keen to bring back the old clip following Trump’s highly anticipated second indictment since Biden made these claims. “Just in case anyone is confused what this is really about, this is the President last November,” Mace wrote.

You don’t need to be a Trump supporter to view this as a thinly veiled threat to use legal maneuvers to prevent Trump from even having a chance to run. After Tuesday, Trump will have endured two arraignments since Biden made these claims, pointing more and more towards what many perceive as election interference.

Biden’s statements came in response to a question about how he would reassure international leaders, raising questions about whether he’s more concerned about the opinions of foreign heads of state than those of the American people.

I meant you. Tribune of the People is he referring to Trump as one of the Gracchi? Yeah that might be fitting, not exactly parallel but probably just as critical historically in our Republic.
