two days ago I woke up and saw four inches of fresh new snow
out the window burying my wifes car, when she got up, I said,

I'm not going to declare winter 13/14 over just yet. But, here's hoping.:D

So the thaw has eventually arrived

Another inch of snow coming tonight for us. That should be the last of it until Labour Day weekend.

Jimbuna 04-04-14 09:54 AM

When is that?

Not tomorrow surely :)

Tonight will probably end up being tomorrow.

I was referring to Labour Day weekend :)

swamprat69er 04-04-14 10:03 AM

First Monday in September.
http://www.statutoryholidays.com/labourday.php
Labour Day 2014 In 2014 Labour Day is Monday September 1.

Labour Day in Canada is celebrated on the first Monday of September and it is a federal statutory holiday. It is also observed in the United States on the same day. Many other countries celebrate Labour Day on May 1st.
This holiday officially celebrates workers and the labour union movement, however, most of us only think of it as the last long weekend of the summer, a perfect occasion for one last BBQ or canoe trip. Many seasonal attractions and vendors close after the labour day long weekend and it is generally the start of the fall shoulder season.

Note: In the Commonwealth Countries it is spelled "labour", in the United States is spelled "labor".

Labour is the old English spelling IIRC.

The spell checker flags the word unless you spell it labor.:know:

The spell checker is on an American website (this one) and was set up by an American. We (the rest of the world) can't help it if Americans cannot spell correctly.:D I always add the corrected spelling to the dictionary. Slowly the dictionary is learning. One word at a time.:haha:
