Former PM Tony Blair claims there is now a 50% chance Brexit won't happen

OH SHUT UP WILL YOU!

Catfish 03-02-18 05:02 PM

^ Oh yes he is wrong.
Because even if now more than 50 percent are against it, the banks and industry say it is the wrong decision and all experts agree, you will have your brexit, be sure. You just won't have what the brexiteers promised, because they lied.

Sounds like fence sitting to me, but also sounds like she doesn't want the will of the people to go through as planned ... :yep:

Ha ha got you. :03:

I was having ago at that busy bod who can not keep his dam nose out and always interfering between his dinner speeches. He is a bloody liar as well, we have not forgotten the "dodgy dossier" and a few other things as well. The PM who promised to deliver and we got nothing, only Scotland and Wales got what they wanted.

You could well be right, she did vote to remain but since becoming PM she has to balance her own feelings with the will of the electorate and not having a majority in parliament makes everything all that more awkward.

Damned if she does and damned if she doesn't.

Brexit: Theresa May urges EU to buy into 'ambitious' vision

Theresa May has urged the EU to get on with discussing her "ambitious but practical" vision for economic relations with the UK after Brexit.

The EU is not going to get Hugga-Mugga with you MayBot so stop living in a dream and get back to the real world.

Jeremy Corbyn urged Momentum founder Jon Lansman not to stand for the vacant post of Labour's general secretary, the BBC understands.

The Labour leader failed to persuade Mr Lansman not to put himself forward in a phone call on Tuesday.

Scratch below the surface and you'll uncover the true reason for the power struggle and the reason I gave up my 25 year membership.

Ian McNicol's resignation as Labour general secretary earlier this week has sparked a potential power struggle between Unite, Labour's largest financial backer, and Momentum - the campaign group which was set up to support and sustain Jeremy Corbyn's leadership,

^ i always wonder why you are wondering about this.
I mean after all England is the inventor of capitalism, and it is still a class society, much more than most other western countries. House of lords?
Bankers and such get much more money, than those PMs.
You really expect equality, same chances and deserved loans?

At least the more money those politicians get, the less likely they are to get bribed by big business :03:

Jimbuna 03-05-18 09:54 AM

House of Lords is probably the best example I could have thought of also and given the fact they aren't even elected but rather 'chosen' makes them even more resented than those fools who sit next door in Parliament.

Sinn Féin shared a meeting of minds at talks with the EU's chief negotiator on Monday, the party said.

Party President Mary Lou McDonald made the comments after she and her party colleagues met Michel Barnier in Brussels.

It follows comments from Prime Minister Theresa May that she did not want to see a hard border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Ms McDonald said the issue was now "in Mrs May's court".

Hopefully Sinn Féin are as supportive in private as they currently appear to be in public.

Donald Tusk has insisted the EU "does not want to build a wall", but Brexit means "we will be drifting apart".

The EU Council president said Theresa May wanted to "demonstrate at any price that Brexit could be a success", but that was not the EU's objective.

He was unveiling draft guidelines for the EU side for negotiations on post-Brexit relations with the UK.

Mr Tusk said he wanted continued security and research cooperation and to ensure flights were not grounded.

On trade, he said that the UK's decision to rule out membership of the single market or the customs union meant a free trade agreement was the best option - but it would be, he said, the first such agreement that would "loosen, not strengthen economic ties".

I think we'll eventually end up with a mutual free trade agreement.

The big question for me being....will we be handing over somewhere in the region of £40 billion for such an agreement? :hmmm:
