[CareerTrack 1.CareerStatusSave 11] The campaign fill did not register this kills but did register that the dansig objective was failed and allowed campaign progress. Both these ship kills have bugged dates:hmmm: Your Scapa objecive was recorded as a pass with one kill. Could you please post the section from the .upc file that shows this.:) :subsim: |
Hi Trevally
AFAIK what you see in the spoiler is all I have. The CareerTrack UPC file is dated 21st May 21.37 from the UPCInitial folder My last game save is 00000012 21st May 22.46 Peter |
Oh ok thanks Peter.
This file only gets updated when you end patrol and you must be still at sea:D Could you check your capt log to the entry when you sank the BB in scapa and see if the date and time of sinking is in the correct format or is bugged Cheers John |
Hi Trevally
For the first time since I can remember it had the correct sinking date, I was actually quite shocked to see it. Maybe of no consequence but BCW was the mission requested not BTF. All requested missions always have corrupted dates. Although my patrol area AN1814 covering BTW had started, I had to make a save because I ran out of real time. IIRC sober has removed this feature from his mega mod because of all the date corruptions. Peter |
Thanks Peter - that great
RE: what objective was requested in the bunker. When you request an objective in the bunker like BCW it only effects the secondary mission that then gets loaded with in. So if a main objective is available due to date and you have not selected it - it will still work on the campaign if player does it RE: bugged dates This could be related to a TDWs journal logging? I am just trying the piece together the facts about the campaign when it does not move forward and when it does. Things I am looking at are mostly date related as along with Vecko, I do think the tonnage system is one we can leave in the bin. So changing the campaign to date flowing is where I am focusing. Issues with dates controlling campaigns are:- +- by location (not GMT) Dates as triggers do not work (stock game bug) Bunker time missing campaign date end (I am trying to fix this one) |
Hi again Peter:D
When you finish your patrol (back in base) could you post your .upc file again. We can see that the ships with the bugged dates did not count as a pass on your campaign when they should have. I would like to see at the end of your patrol if they did count to your career record:up: |
this is your polish ship kill:-

Trev, how do you control French harbor air raids ? Which files are responsible and can we affect type and number of the planes involved in air raid?:hmmm:

There is a way to prevent AI attacks by using threat zones. They have their own layer in the campaign. I have never been able to verify if they actually work - I suspect that they don't. Another option is to restrict the airbases. Here we can replace some large air bases (South UK and Northern Ireland) with smaller ones. The smaller bases have no long range bombers. Next option is to control what is in each air base. This is done within the air base .cfg (found under "Land" unit. Here is one example (\Silent Hunter 5\data\Land\LAB_LargeAirBaseGB) Code:
[Unit] Each one sets the aeroplane type and number. removing or reducing the long range bombers could give the result of less or smaller raids. If you remove the longest range bomber - you will see that the radius in the air layer for that base type change to match. Next would be to adjust the actual range of the unit in the air units files. :salute: |
Hi Trevally
I requested BCW. BTF was not available. I am finding it impossible with 100% realism to complete a 48 hour patrol area as I just run out of real time. 72 hours not a hope in hell. 3-4 hours an evening is not enough time when having to use the hydrophone and with difficulty moving on the Easy Coast during daylight through the amount of air patrols without taking damage. I prefer the SH3 24 hour patrols as they are at least achievable. I cannot see the point in staying in one place and winding the TC up to complete the objective. I think I will still request the missions but not do them unless I get a special operation. Peter |
If I travel on surface at night . Avoid heavy air traffic areas while travelling to a destination I hardly ever see a plane . Also don't get spotted by ships you don't need to sink . I do not have a problem with planes .
|
Hi sober
I am with you on this. It is frustrating during the day in BCW when you pick up a hydrophone contact 18km away for instance and then you get shot up or bombed trying to intercept it. Peter |
