Yeah, I suppose that last one might've been a bit hard to understand. Here it is in English English:
Quote:

Bernard: Oh yes, my workleader, it is pretty hard for the residents to get to the door, but it has a safety depth of 70 metres and twelve torpedo tubes, and the potted plants are sonar-absorbing...
Hitler: Berna-a-ard! I should've become a politician...

JerM 11-19-06 06:36 PM

hey guys

ok this might be a really dumb question and i might get joked for it but who is bernard. you guys keep metioning him.

Dont worry, JerM, we have all(the ones who were borned after WW2, anyway:D) asked that question at some time. Bernard was founded/born by Dowly in the humorous screenshot thread, and has since been blamed for EVERYTHING that goes wrong,be it an installation or a bad date. Kinda nice to have him around soaking up all the blame.

bookworm_020 11-19-06 08:57 PM

There is a Bernard in Every Boat!! So you can blame him for torpedos firing when you don't want them to, destroying Neutral or Friendly shiping, surfacing infront of escort ships, etc, etc....

Just blame it on Bernard!

Cute....but you should've used the 'del' key on the keypad to remove the interface, that way we wouldn't be able to see you've ordered 7m depth (decks awash) to create the pic.....

:yep:  :rotfl:

Actually I hadn't done so to just create a pic; I was on a surface attack approach and it just looked too good a sight not to snapshot it. :D

Looks like they were doing the infamous 'course change' that some of us have observed, where some ships do a 360 and rejoin the rest that haven't lost their senses. Seems to happen in saved games.

I certainly hope not. Dinsdaly in Monty Python's Flying Circus was not a screw-up of any kind, just a joke they used. Also, he's British, not American. There HAS to be a better name than that one.

Hybris 11-21-06 11:24 AM

How about Clintion as the next name?

_Seth_ 11-21-06 02:53 PM

Cant we just make some suggestions, and then raise a poll to see what we could call this "pacific'" bernard guy..? :D

The Noob 11-21-06 03:08 PM

I wanna keep dinsdale. He screw'ed up so niceley on those Destroyers that sank themselfes....:rotfl:

stabiz 11-21-06 03:22 PM

I am also getting used to Dinsdale.

_Seth_ 11-21-06 03:27 PM

I agree, Dinsdale is almost "worked in" now.

Biggles 11-21-06 04:27 PM

We could always take any other Monty Python names like:

Mr. Gumby (need to speak with high voice and pauses LIKE......THIS.........)
Naughtius Maximus
Biggus Dickus (can't spell out "s" sounds, so instead of "ship spotted, it would be: Thip thpotted!")
Mr. Hilter

Albrecht Von Hesse 11-21-06 05:53 PM

Personally, my pick would be Mr. Bean.
