Screen Shot folder

Would someone be kind enough to point me in the direction of the folder containing the screen shots after you capture them? I don't seem to be able to track them down anywhere. :hmmm:

Thanks in advance for the help.

You'll find them in the SH5 folder. However, the keychart is wrong; you need ctrl+F11 to take screens. Or use something else, like Fraps. ;)

I guess that explains why I couldn't find them! Bummer...just missed out on some nice ones. Oh well...

Thanks again for the reply.

Uhm some VIIB sceenshots if possible?

BaronVonDuncs 03-09-10 12:13 PM

Is it possible to customize where the screenshots go to when you press ctrl F11? Ie can you have a separate folder so you don't fill up your Sh5 folder with bitmaps.

Its not hard to move them but it would be nice to have them go straight to a screenshots folder.

using the Ctrl F11 keys means they will go to your SHV folder automatically by default.

Better to use a programme such as fraps and you can direct them to any folder of your choosing.

A picture showcasing what Norwegians did best in WWII - hauling oil! Our tankers reportedly covered a full one third of Britain's oil needs at one point in the war).

Also an Amphibious Group Command Ship, whatever that is, again flying the Norwegian flag.

Even on the lowest graphics settings, the game is drop dead gorgeous:up:.

Okay, so me and a couple others wanted to know what the Norwegian harbours looked like, so here we go. Look them up in Google Earth or this map service to compare them to the real thing.

First off, of course, is Bergen! Looking okay on the map, certainly much, much better than in Silent Hunter III, but it looks like they've pretty much just taken the terrain contours and built a harbour around them. The lake in the south is connected to the fjord in reality, and the island with the wave-breakers in the north doesn't exist at all in real-life. Lakesvåg, south of the city, where the u-boat pens were and still are, seems completely barren.

Trondheim is another disappointment - the Nid river, which runs through the city, isn't there and the Munkholmen island (which pays host to a star fortress) is also missing. I'm not expecting Ubi to go through the trouble of modelling a whole fortress for some relatively backwater harbour, but the island should have been included.

Narvik is a northern town at the end of a fjord that was the site of the Battles of Narvik, where a large number of German naval vessels were sunk by the British navy. I've never been there and can't say better than any of you how accurate its depiction is, but comparing it to the map I have at my disposal, it doesn't look very accurate.

Oslo, "field of the gods" -- the Tiger City is the biggest let-down. There's apparently nothing there. Sure, it may not play much of a role u-boat warfare-wise, but shouldn't the capital city of a nation get as much or more attention than its smaller cities? Only thing they've slapped down is a marker that pretty much says "all right, just pretend there's a city here".
