I suspect your 900 Euro will go a lot durther then their 3100 Euro in your respective countries though.

Don't bet on it. We have comparable prices with Austria (gasoline is cheaper north) and half their pay.

Balkan pay, european prices

That does surprise me...I always thought the lower the standard of living, the further your money went :hmm2:

Betonov 12-29-12 02:32 PM

Thats' true with the realy low standards.
Low standard means low consumerism, most of your pay goes for food and clothes, one can save a bit.

We don't have a low standard. Hospitals have the latest equipment, middle class drives luxury cars, internet and mobile phones in all but the poorest homes and even those have acces to public wi-fi spots.

Problem is the corruption and party affiliation. And I mean a third world coruption in a first world nation. There's so much goverment interefernce without goverment regulation that there's always so much middlemen involved in distribution chains that the price for a loaf of bread is 20 times than the price for the grain needed. Not to mention construction projects.

A republican and a democrat would discus goverment involvment in Slovenia and their heads would explode.

Jimbuna 12-29-12 02:42 PM

That's a real shame because invariably it is the lower paid who suffer in those sort of corrupt environments.
